BeyondVisible

Sonicbids

This next group is a combination of Rock meets Metal meets Alternative blended into one terrific melodic sound that will entertain music lovers. Whom am I talking about? Junior's Cave would like to introduce you to the Rock Heavy Metal band, BeyondVisible. In this recent spotlight with the band, our Webzine gets the 411 about their music. Enjoy!

Isaac: How do you sum up 2008 for BeyondVisible?

BeyondVisible: 2008 was a building year for BeyondVisible in every aspect. At the end of 2007, our singer and bass player had left. By January, we filled those spots, and by February we were playing with Ill Niño at Starland Ballroom. The show went really well, and from there the building started. We worked hard on sculpting our sound, and by the summer were playing shows at a breakneck pace, sometimes playing an afternoon matinee and an evening show in the same day. The exposure from playing out so much really helped us build up our fan base. In September, we recorded our current EP, For One Moment, which we're extremely proud of and have been pushing very hard. We closed out the year playing with one of our long time favorite bands, Life of Agony, which was an awesome experience. We made a lot of new fans at that show and met a lot of new friends.

Isaac: What do you feel was the band's biggest accomplishment for 2008?

BeyondVisible: The show with Life of Agony was a high point, and having our EP turn out so well is something we're very proud of.

Isaac: Describe the music scene in New Jersey.

BeyondVisible: It seems like every local show these days is a contest or battle of the bands for one thing or another. Those kinds of shows are great for the winning band, and horrible for the scene. It fosters an adversarial atmosphere instead of a cooperative one. Cooperation and mutual support between bands is what the scene really needs to thrive. The music scene in Jersey used to be really vibrant, and is on its way back there. There are a lot of great local bands out there making a lot of incredible music.

Isaac: Elaborate on the concept behind BeyondVisible.

BeyondVisible: Beyond Visible is a scientific term for light that is outside the range of human sight; infrared, ultraviolet, and so on. These things exist, they affect us tremendously, but they are completely intangible. Music affects us in much the same way. You can't touch it, you can't see it, but it is something that can have extreme power and influence over our emotions, our outlook on life, and our interactions. Music is a way to express the things that are at the core of our being. It's a way for people to connect on a deep level. To hear a song after you've lost a lover, found new love, dealt with a death in the family, or any of life's trials or triumphs… To hear a song and relate to it and know that you're not alone, you're not the only one who's experienced those things, and felt those emotions. It's a very powerful experience, something completely intangible, but very real. That's the driving force behind BeyondVisible. If we can create those connections and moments for people, just as so many musicians have done for us over the years is the reason we do what we do.

Isaac: Elaborate a little about whom were your biggest influences in the music industry and why?

BeyondVisible: Most of our influences have been musicians and bands more than industry types. Classics from Jimi Hendrix to Stevie Ray Vaughan and more recent acts from Metallica to Breaking Benjamin. They all touched on some experience or emotion we've been through in our lives.

Isaac: Let's talk about what you feel you will bring to the music industry?

BeyondVisible: We just want to write great songs that are meaningful to us, and hopefully they'll mean something to other people as well.

Isaac: If you had an opportunity to work with one artist or group, who would it be and why?

BeyondVisible: It would be awesome to work with Metallica. Those guys have been around for a long time and have made a lot of great music. They've gone through so many changes in sound and style and always manage to come out on top. There was that whole downloading lawsuit thing, which is what it is, but we still love their music.

Isaac: How would you describe your music to others?

BeyondVisible: We're straight up hard rock, heavy, but still very melodic, somewhere between Breaking Benjamin, Staind, and Sevendust.

Isaac: What is your definition for Rock Music?

BeyondVisible: Just listen to one of our songs and you can see what the definition of Rock is.

Isaac: What type of feedback have you received from your previous releases?

BeyondVisible: Great vocals, solid rhythm section, awesome guitars are some of the compliments we've gotten… The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, which is very rewarding.

Isaac: What can fans expect from your latest CD you are working on currently? What is the inspiration behind the album?

BeyondVisible: We've been writing a lot of new material, and have really been expanding on our sound. The newer stuff is much more melodic. Also, we're doing some exciting things with guitar harmonies and dual leads. Vocally, Mike has become a lot more expressive in his phrasing. Our inspiration for this album is life and a lot of the things that have been happening to all of us.

Isaac: Where can fans locate you at online?

BeyondVisible: beyondvisible1.com is our website, myspace.com/beyondvisible, we're also on Facebook, twitter, ReverbNation, and last.fm. Not to mention you can get our latest CD "For One Moment" on iTunes, Amazon.com, Napster, and almost any site that has music.

Isaac: What can fans expect from BeyondVisible in 2009?

BeyondVisible: We're looking to wrap up production on our next release by late fall, early winter. In the meantime, fans can expect bigger and better shows with some great bands. We've started incorporating new material into our set with some great feedback on it. We have a music video coming out on June 14th for our single "For One Moment", which we're very happy with how it turned out. We're also planning on going out on the road for a few short stints. We have a few exclusive things just for people on our mailing list, free downloads, contests, and giveaways. Fans can sign up through a widget on our MySpace page. Also if you catch a show, you can expect our usual energetic entertaining performance.

Isaac: Time for some shout outs to your family, friends, and fans…

BeyondVisible: We've had the opportunity to work with and become friends with some great local bands, like Divinity Destroyed, End of an Era, Scarlet Carson, Sekond Skyn all those guys are awesome. Our fans are great, very supportive. Family and friends help us out a lot; I won't name names because I'd hate to leave anybody out…

Isaac: Final words from BeyondVisible…

BeyondVisible: Your favorite local band can only be as big as your local scene. So support your local Scene as much as you can.
