New Music Spotlight
August 2009 Edition

Casper Jones

Casper Jones

Sonicbids

Casper Jones is amazing when it comes to his catchy hooks, soulful pop/rock vocals, and great melodious tunes especially illustrated in such great tracks as "Bleeding Hearts" and "Nobody Else" where Casper really shines through at his best. If you are looking for a solid performer, then Casper's debut album "Delicious Creation" is full of great tracks that music fans will enjoy listening to over and over again. Check out this recent interview that our Webzine had with the acclaimed Singer/Songwriter. Enjoy!

Isaac: What has been the best part of 2009 for you musically so far?

Casper: Being able to perform the music from the album in front of a live audience; and get an immediate response. Something you obviously don't experience in the studio.

Isaac: What do you feel has been the biggest accomplishment for 2009 so far?

Casper: Finishing up my album 'Delicious Creation'.

Isaac: Describe the music scene in your area.

Casper: Boston is a weird city to be in. There's an abundance of musicians from the various colleges. And there are many talented bands. But as far as getting people to go out and support live music it's tough. The Red Sox always win!!! (At least in that regard :D ).

Isaac: What has been the best venue to perform at and why?

Casper: T.T. the Bear's Place in Boston is great. Great sound, awesome vibe, and obviously a legendary club.

Isaac: Elaborate a little about whom were your biggest influences in the music industry and why?

Casper: I am a huge fan of Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. I think his compositions are extremely unique; in pop or any genre. The way he makes a key change occur without anyone ever noticing is just brilliant.

Also, The Beatles, for their ability to write so many songs of different styles and genres. And the way they always kept renewing themselves.

Lastly, Miles Davis. A little bit like The Beatles, he never stopped and repeated himself. He was always moving. And the way he can improvise so melodically is just amazing.

Isaac: Let's talk about what you feel you will bring to the music industry?

Casper: Lot's of catchy hooks and some great guitar playing.

Isaac: If you had an opportunity to work with one artist or group, who would it be and why?

Casper: Mozart.....just to pick his brain.

Isaac: How would you describe your music to others?

Casper: Guitar driven, melodic pop/rock with catchy hooks. I'm a sucker for hooks. And guitars.

Isaac: What type of feedback have you received from fans about your music?

Casper: People seem to be digging it a lot. Some are surprised how much more rocking the music is Live. We like to stretch a few tunes and create a little bit of an infernal mess. On the record it tends to be more arranged and tight.

Isaac: Where can fans locate you at online?

Casper: So far I'm on MySpace, Facebook, Sonicbids, CDBaby, iTunes, plus other online retailers. The personal website is still a work-in-progress.

Isaac: What can fans expect from you in the next five years?

Casper: To get older!! ;) No seriously, more recordings, more gigs. I'm writing a bunch of tunes all the time and I'm compiling material for the next one, and the next one, and the next one................

Isaac: Time for some shout outs to your family, friends, and fans…

Casper: I just want to thank everyone for their support. It can sometimes be a little discouraging in this business. Especially while the album is still in the process of being made. But to finally be able to present the material for you and see your reaction is truly something special.
