Dorian Hare has the type of sound that will instantly make you want to tell others about his music. He is an amazing Singer/Songwriter with beautiful lyrics that tell stories about love and life. Dorian also knows that he has been blessed with wonderful talents and is excited to share his music with others. In this recent spotlight with our Webzine, Dorian talks music and influences with us. Isaac: What was the best part of 2008 for you musically?
Dorian: Playing at Merritt Mountain Music Fest and Working hard in the studio.
Isaac: What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment for 2008?
Dorian: Being put on one International compilation called "Chill Out" and being on another US based compilation "Akoustica".
Isaac: Describe the music scene in area.
Dorian: The Vancouver music scene is very friendly once you get into it. Getting into it is the hardest part though.
Isaac: What has been the best venue to perform at and why?
Dorian: By far the stage at Merritt Mountain Music Fest, the fans are there for music and they love it all, the vibe is electrifying.
Isaac: Elaborate a little about whom were your biggest influences in the music industry and why?
Dorian: I love classic rock; I love new stuff. I have the hardest time when people ask me to name influences because my music combines so many. I would have to say that bands like incubus, Green Day, Shinedown ACDC, Aerosmith all of them... I'm just a fan of music in general and what it can do for people.
Isaac: Let's talk about what you feel you will bring to the music industry?
Dorian: As a young artist, I feel I have an edge that others can feed off. I can offer hooks; it's all about the hook and the promotion of the actual music. Too many people focus on the middle man, I go and get it.
Isaac: If you had an opportunity to work with one artist or group, who would it be and why?
Dorian: I would love to work with Fall Out Boy because I like there edge and passion for creating the hooks that everyone sings.
Isaac: How would you describe your music to others?
Dorian: Pop rock, rock, edge rock, acoustic rock, surf rock, singer/songwriter, acoustic.
Isaac: What type of feedback have you received from fans about your music?
Dorian: People seem to dig my music; If even one person can associate some part of their lives to my music, then I can say I am a successful musician.
Isaac: What can fans expect from you in the next five years?
Dorian: A full length self titled album, big shows, videos, great music, and great exposure.
Isaac: Time for some shout outs to your family, friends, and fans…
Dorian: My Dad is a professional musician and he has pushed me to be the best I can be so I thank him, my mom for the constant support and love, my sis for the mom like attributes, and my loving girlfriend for being by side at every show, and every other thing I get up to.
