Check out this next interview with a hot new indie band, Dynamo Bliss, who is carving a nice niche in the music industry with their progressive rock sound that mixes elements of psychedelic rock to create something original and fun to listen to. We asked the band members several questions about their music and were pleased with the responses; after reading this feature, we think you will be too. Here is the spotlight that takes a closer look into the musical world of Dynamo Bliss.

Isaac: I just listened to several songs off your new EP/CD. What was the inspiration for making your new album?

Dynamo Bliss: The spark came out of wanting to do something very different than what was already out there. Lyrically, we drew inspiration from a range of different sources such as other music, art, movies, literature, friends, traveling etc.

Isaac: Who were your influences?

Dynamo Bliss: Some influences come from the late 60's psychedelic era and some from early 70's progressive rock. Other influences come from impressionist jazz and European art music.

Isaac: What do you consider to have been the highlight(s) and lowpoint(s) of your career to date?

Dynamo Bliss: We're a fairly new constellation (our debut album was released in February 2010) so we haven't had that many peaks and troughs yet. The highlights so far consists mainly of how well the album has been received by the public and the media. A personal career highlight for me was being called up by David Foster a few years ago and talking about his production of The Tubes album "Completion Backward Principle". A low point was being hired to play on a party after an arena rock concert with a famous Swedish artist. What the arranger had forgot to tell us was that the party was in the middle of an ice hockey rink. Not too happy faces when we rigged our tiny rehearsal PA.

Isaac: Brief history about your background plus the style of music you play.

Dynamo Bliss: We'd all been playing in different constellations, everything from jazz to metal to country to schlager, and we found that we shared a mutual interest for quirky art rock. So we finally decided to embark on a no-compromise quest to create never before heard music.

Isaac: How easy is it to gets gigs for you as an artist? What is the live music scene like in your area?

Dynamo Bliss: It's fairly easy to get gigs and there's a lot of great music happening. The difficulty is that it's a small town and you quickly cover most grounds - there are only so many venues. So you have to travel long distances to find other venues.

Isaac: What do you think of the state of Indie music at the moment? Do you listen to radio much at all? Has the Internet helped music grow or hindered it in your opinion?

Dynamo Bliss: It's both ways. While the Internet has made it a lot easier to both distribute and find new music, the revolution in homerecording has yielded an explosion of new indie artists and it's harder to dig out the pearls. All in all, I think the Internet is a good thing, though.

Isaac: If you could create a fantasy band - what would be the line-up and why?

Dynamo Bliss: I don't have any. As long as limits are being pushed and music is fresh and innovative, I'll be interested in any line-up.

Isaac: What CD's do you currently have available and where can they be purchased from?

Dynamo Bliss: Our debut album "21st Century Junk" is a digital release only, and it can be streamed (our downloaded) for free at this address:

http://dynamobliss.com

Isaac: Where can fans access your music, videos, blogs, and anything else about you online?

Dynamo Bliss: The action is at our Facebook site:

Isaac: Message to your fans?

Dynamo Bliss: Never stop looking for new music!
