Friday Nights
Friday Nights
Singer/Songwriter Mike Castillo and Musician/Songwriter/Producer Shon Kornfeld of Friday Nights share a deep love for making fantastic music. When you add the talents of each men, you get some of the best lyrics, melodious tunes, and rocking guitar that have ever been heard. In a recent interview with our Webzine, Mike and Shon share with us what fans can expect from Friday Nights in 2009.
Isaac: Hi, Welcome to your interview with Junior's Cave. Now that 2008 has officially ended, what are your reflections of the year 2008 for you as an artist?
Friday Nights: We spent 2008 finishing our debut album, so we just look back on all the hard work, and look forward to people hearing it in '09.
Isaac: What has drawn you to wanting to make music?
Friday Nights: Genetics. It's all in the genes... tight genes!
Isaac: Elaborate a little about whom were your biggest influences in the music industry and why?
Friday Nights: We listen to a lot of pop-oriented alt stuff, STP, Hum, Minus the Bear... we both love indie rock but are suckers for a pop hook.
Isaac: Let's talk about what you feel you will bring to the music industry?
Friday Nights: Real music for real people. That's our motto. We don't auto-tune the vocals, we don't make the drums and everything "perfect" like you can do with today's recording technology. We make sure the material is as strong as possible; the bar is set rather high in Friday Nights.
Isaac: If you had an opportunity to work with one artist or group, who would it be and why?
Friday Nights: A Friday Nights/Tegan and Sara collaboration could result in some very cool music....
Isaac: How would you describe your music to others?
Friday Nights: A modern alternative/rock/pop version of Steely Dan.
Isaac: What type of feedback have you received from your previous releases?
Friday Nights: This is our first album, although we released an mp3-single of "Whose Side Are You On" on iTunes in 2007 and people seemed to like it.
Isaac: What can fans expect from your latest CD, you are working on currently? What is the inspiration behind the CD?
Friday Nights: We just released our debut album, "Friday Nights", and while its not quite a concept album, it does have a theme... it starts out pretty rocking, and ends very mellow... much like a good Friday night into Saturday morning...
Friday Nights: Live performances to promote the album, and more recorded music! We are already working on 12 songs for the next record.
Isaac: Time for some shout outs to your family, friends, and fans. Final words...
Friday Nights: We are simply 2 musicians in a sea of millions. If you like good catchy songs with great lyrics and killer guitar work in the alternative rock/pop realm then check out http://FridayNightsMusic.com.... thank you!
