This next young actor is carving his way into the entertainment scene with his amazing acting skills, super good looks, and irresistible charm. Want to discover a new rising talent? Look no further. Meet Jul Sanfiorenzo who reveals his passion for acting and his love for the entertainment business. Here is what developed from our online meeting.
Isaac: Hi Jul, I wanted to first thank you for taking the time to complete this interview with our Webzine. I read in your bio that you first appeared in a sitcom called "El Cuartel de la Risa,"
when you were just 6 years old. Let's talk a little about what led you to want to start acting?
Jul: Oh wow, this takes me back like 1000 years. I come from a family of entertainers, my Mom and my Julliard alumni Stepdad have had a dance studio in Puerto Rico for over 25 years. So it was a given that they would send me out to many auditions as a kid. I did many commercials, as well as sitcoms as a tiny boy. Ha!!
In "Cuartel de La Risa", I played the newspaper boy. :)
Isaac: What do you think it is the one aspect about performing that you are enjoying the most?
Jul: There's a rush I get inside when I perform. It's quite ecstatic, I guess you could compare it to winning a sports game, you're just happy.
Isaac: You come from a family of performers. How did growing up in that environment help your want to pursue acting?
Jul: It was difficult at first because I was a rebel. I didn't want to partake in anything that my parents were involved in, but eventually I started realizing it was a wonderful gift to have a family that understood what is to pursue your dreams.
Isaac: When you were 18 years of age, you made a decision to take a break from the entertainment world. This decision led you to move 3000 miles away to Boston from where you grew up to study Architecture and History at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Describe your experience in adjusting to living in the states and what did this move mean to you both personally and professionally.
Jul: Oh wow. The first thing that comes to mind is food. I got sick after three months of making a drastic meal change. They took me to the doctor, and the lady gave me a list of food items I had to buy and start eating, I didn't like any of them (lol). So I called my mother and I asked her what were the recipes of my 4 favorite dishes back home, and so she did. In a week I was fine. :)
Apart from that, adjusting to America was not so hard, as was adjusting to school. I found a sense of indifference towards your successes or failures; and coming from a very tight family, well you can imagine how difficult it was for me. However, in the end, I learned a lot, and it became an unforgettable experience.

Isaac: You have performed in several successful projects. Name one of your favorite projects you have worked on and why?
Ju:l That would be either dancing for Madonna or acting in Honey. These were my two first jobs in each respective discipline, and I am eternally thankful for these experiences, and to the people that made it happen. I got to live in other places of the world, meet new people, and get a chance to do what I like to do.
Isaac: How do you handle rejections when it comes to not getting a part that you really work hard to pursue?
Jul: It's just like anything else. First, your ego gets hurts, but then you brush it off and move on. This is what the business is about. A lot of the times it really has nothing to do with you. It's either a look, or simply luck. So, we have to realize the best thing we can do is move one, and be happy we get to pursue what we want to do.
Isaac: Are you looking for fame and fortune? Or are you looking for something completing different?
Jul: Hmmm. Well, we do live in a capitalist country so some money would be nice... :) but to be honest, I'm just happy working. I don't need fame as long as the jobs keep coming. In the end, I would love to have enough money to start a foundation that educates kids in need. I just want to help troubled kids.
Isaac: What is your ultimate plan/goal that you want to achieve in the entertainment business?
Jul: My goal right now is to ultimately produce and star in my very own successful HBO/Showtime series, or Feature Film series.
Isaac: Name one movie that you recently have seen that you would have loved to worked in and why?
Jul: I would love to have a role in True Blood, or United States of Tara. I love the subject matter. I'm a fantasy/sci-fi geek (lol).
Isaac: When you are not performing, what are some other things you enjoy doing?
Jul: I love taking photography, or lying out in the sun. I'm also an art aficionado; I love going to museums and galleries, and appreciating the minds of artists around the world.
Isaac: What are some current projects that you are working on and in the next few years?
Jul: Well, I just finished shooting a scene for Honey 2, and I'm producing and starring in this really cool sci-fi webseries about fallen angels. Right now, we are in pre-production, and the first episode is on the work as we speak! We have set up a website, as a bit of a teaser, and to help get donations to make this dream production of ours a reality. So we would love it if you and your readers would check it out and help us out! The website is:

Isaac: What advice do you have others that are trying to pursue a career in acting?
