Isaac: What has been the best part of 2009 for you musically so far?
(Steven Winton) - Playing legendary venues such as Glasgow Barrowlands and also watching our support grow throughout Scotland and the rest of the U.K.
[Lewis Young] Hopefully, we can tell you that on the 23rd august… all going well. (Kashmir Red plays the legendary Aberdeen Beachballroom on Aug 22nd - The Ballroom has played host to a whole host of music legends including the Beatles. This is an unprecedented honor for a local act).
(CHRIS ROGIE) - Seeing the crowds get bigger at each gig.
Isaac: What do you feel has been the biggest accomplishment for 2009 so far?
(Steven Winton) - Having one of our records played on national Radio.
(CR) - So far, it has to be a Charity Gig for a very worthy cause that we managed to sell out.
Isaac: Describe the music scene in area.
Steven Winton - It's getting drastically better over the past year or so and we feel we have helped in raising the level of quality of music and also the ambition of other bands.
Isaac: What has been the best venue to perform at and why?
Steven Winton - O2 (Formerly Carling) Academy (GLASGOW). It's a legendary venue (White Stripes, Lenny Kravitz, Paramore have all played there) and really brought the best out of us. Probably our best ever sounding gig.
(CR) - Drummonds / Carling Academy and hopefully the Beach Ballroom.
Isaac: Elaborate a little about whom were your biggest influences in the music industry and why?
(CR) - Neil Young, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Oasis because the emphasis is and was, always on having great songs and being able to replicate it live with the exception of The Beatles.
(NC) - The obvious ones like The Beatles and Oasis, simply because they play fantastic music. Also, bands like MY bloody Valentine, because they sound so unique, it blows people away, and I'd love our music to have that effect on people.
Isaac: Let's talk about what you feel you will bring to the music industry?
(Steven Winton) - Bring some honesty as we truly believe we mean what we write about. We aren't here to create new rock n roll but help write the next chapter in our hero's footsteps.
(NC) - Music with feeling and passion, there's too many bands today who are caught up in the fame n the fortune.
Isaac: If you had an opportunity to work with one artist or group, who would it be and why?
[Lewis Young] Sir Macca (Paul McCartney) - Purely because he is the Grand - Daddy of music and his wealth of experience and knowledge of the industry would be second to none.
(CR) - Chemical Brothers to produce and remix one of our songs to see what they would do.
Or
To play with Neil Young live on stage.
(Steven Winton) - Lady Gaga or Miley Cyrus.
Isaac: How would you describe your music to others?
(CR) - No nonsense Rock N Roll with lyrical meaning. You have to see it live to believe it.
Isaac: What type of feedback have you received from fans about your music?
[Lewis Young] Apart from our very first review ever, it seems to have had good feedback, including standout mentions in Sunday tabloids after a local festival performance.
(Steven Winton) - The fans love it. There isn't a better site than seen the fans going crazy at gigs, or to hear them sing the words back to you. They are a very loyal group of people.
