Last Day Off
Our Webzine recently had the pleasure to complete an interview with Wolf Bradley of the Punk/Alternative band Last Day Off about the band's music, their first studio EP, 'Party of the Century ', and what do they do in their spare time when they are not making fantastic music. Here is what Wolf outlined about the band in this ultra cool spotlight. Enjoy!!
Isaac: What are you currently up to?
Wolf Bradley of Last Day Off: Lately, we've been writing songs and playing as many shows as we possibly can. We have a lot of new guitar riffs and lyrics for new songs so right now we're in the early stages of songwriting. It's very exciting and fun to write songs. Also, we are going to be filming a music video very soon.
Isaac: Wow, I cannot wait to see the music video.
Isaac: When you compose a song where do you get your ideas from and how does a song evolve?
Wolf Bradley of Last Day Off: Well, in most cases, we get the ideas from personal experiences. Other times we have a story line in our heads and we write about that. Most times I write the guitar parts and come up with some lyrics, but I then show it to the band and it becomes a collaborative effort.
Isaac: What are the rewards and challenges about being in a band?
Wolf Bradley of Last Day Off: Our reward is playing songs that we created in front of people. Being in a band allows you to express yourself in your own way. To be able to share that with people and see audiences relate to the songs and like them is very rewarding.
A challenge would be finding all ages places to play. Only one of us is 21 years old. We play everywhere we can from malls to street corners.
Isaac: What tracks does the band most enjoy performing live and why?
Wolf Bradley of Last Day Off: "Mrs. Right" and "Once Upon a Time" are very fun to play live. Mrs. Right's awesome to play live because of the intro drum riff and I love singing the words because they still make me chuckle even though we play the song all the time. I also love playing the solo. "Once Upon a Time" has a really good energy and it is fun to sing. It's just one of those songs that does not get old.
Isaac: What do you think Last Day Off needs to do to gain more exposure and fans? Has the Internet helped spread the word about the band and its music?
Wolf Bradley of Last Day Off: Play more places out of L.A. Maybe go on tour. The Internet has helped immensely. Especially MySpace. We've been getting friend after friend on MySpace and they are from all over the world. It's really cool to have fans from places like Italy and France.

Isaac: Could you take us through some highlights of the first studio EP, 'Party of the Century '?
Wolf Bradley of Last Day Off: The opening track "Party" is full of life and about just having fun and has an energy to it that sets up the rest of the EP. Mrs. Right is my personal favorite because of the lyrics and the drum line. A really cool part of that song is the solo I think. "To Whom it May Concern" is a ballad we wrote and it's just a feel good love song. I really liked recording that one because we added the strings in the beginning. "Once Upon a Time" has an awesome radio intro with all these different fairy tale tunes. It sets the lyrical mood for the song because we compare all these happy fairy tales to a horrible girl so it's somewhat of an interesting contradiction. And "Take You Away" is a more punk compared to the rest of the CD. What I love about that song is the chorus because of the melody.
Isaac: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Wolf Bradley of Last Day Off: Well Andrew, our drummer, and I have a YouTube channel. We make videos with our friend Mat. It's called wamsandwich. We do that every weekend. We also dance in a ballet company. Gabe, our bass player, has very little free time because of work and the band, but he definitely finds time to hang out with all of us. Jonathan is always playing his guitar and becoming more amazing than he already is.
Isaac: Message to your fans?
Wolf Bradley of Last Day Off: We love and accept anyone who likes our band and we're thankful for the growing support we've been receiving. Keep listening to us because our songs are only going to get better from here.
Isaac: Final Thoughts...
Wolf Bradley of Last Day Off: We love writing songs, playing live, and working for the band. We plan on sticking with it until we make it.
