New Music Spotlight
August 2009 Edition

Lil' Dee, Gods Gift

Lil' Dee, Gods Gift

Sonicbids

Junior's Cave is pleased to introduce to the pages of our music section the talents of the New Orleans, Louisiana native Hip-Hop artist Lil' Dee, Gods Gift. The artist has taken his struggles of growing up in the South and transferred those plights into his music. What fans will get when they are listening to Lil' Dee's music is his passion and love of the Hip-Hop/Rap culture in the form of his own unique lyrical style that will impress the masses.

Even more remarkable is the fact that this entertainer has already seen some early successes in his young career including appearing on BET's 106 and Park, the UPN Network, and a DVD titled Bonose TV. Atlanta Rap Legend T.I. was quoted saying that Lil Dee was the future of New Orleans Rap. If you would like to know more about this artist, make sure to read this spotlight that will shed some light about this young performer. Enjoy!

Isaac: What was the best part of 2009 so far for you musically?

Lil' Dee: 2009 has been a great year for me. I'm starting to see all of my days and nights of grinding in the public eye finally paying off. I'm performing all the time building a buzz with the visitors to New Orleans and pleasing the fans I already have here. It's really hard trying to get the average ear in New Orleans, but I'm living proof that it can be done.

Isaac: What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment for 2008?

Lil' Dee: That year was just a spark for the flame I'm about to show the world this year and for many to come. I had my moment to learn more about how this game works, but I can honestly say working with KLC on my up and coming project did a lot for me. I've sat down and had words with many people in the music game like T.I., Baby Boy Da Prince, and Cash Money Records, just to name a few, but nothing can beat the feeling of coming together with a music legend in the south and just making great music.

Isaac: Describe the music scene in New Orleans.

Lil' Dee: It's very hard to get your music out there when there are thousands of other artists telling their own story. If you're not built to work everyday on the streets with flyers on every corner of the city like 'Lil Dee', then you won't make it. I promise you that.

Isaac: What has been the best venue to perform at and why?

Lil' Dee: I think the concert I enjoyed performing at mostly would be at the Pontchartrain Center for Teen Summit '09, the crowd had a lot of energy and I feed off that when I'm performing.

Isaac: Elaborate a little about whom were your biggest influences in the music industry and why?

Lil' Dee: I would have to say my biggest influence would had to be Biggie , because he's a legend and I feel Biggie was the best artist to touch a mic to this day.

Isaac: Let's talk about what you feel you will bring to the music industry?

Lil' Dee: Lil Dee brings life music to the industry, in the past few years I feel hip-hop has lost the roots it started from not to say its a bad thing, but I'm bring hip-hop back to where it started where its about lyrics and the culture instead of what's goin' on now-a-days.

Isaac: If you had an opportunity to work with one artist or group, who would it be and why?

Lil' Dee: The artist I would work with would have to be Kanye West; he's a amazing artist on the production side and on the mc side.

Isaac: How would you describe your music to others?

Lil' Dee: My music is everyday music; I make music to try to help people get threw there day. I have a big passion and love for music so whatever I feel I want people to hear about is what I write about.

Isaac: What type of feedback have you received from fans about your music?

Lil' Dee: The fans are loving my music. They show a lot of support at all times. I love the fans and they love me back!

Isaac: Where can fans locate you at online?

Lil' Dee: Lil Dee can be located on lildeegodsgift.com and from there you can get to my twitter page and MySpace.

Isaac: What can fans expect from you in the next five years?

Lil' Dee: The fans can expect a whole bunch of good music, and the fans can except to see and hear me everywhere.

Isaac: Time for some shout outs to your family, friends, and fans?

Lil' Dee: I wanna thank God first; I wanna shout out Street Dreams Productions for making my dreams come true, my family friends and last but not least the fans!

Isaac: Final words…

Lil' Dee: Yea, log on to lildeegodsgift.com and download my new single!!!!! Also, shout out to Junior's Cave for supporting me and doin' this interview!
