Mija
Mija
With a mission to bring something new and innovated to the Rap/Hip-Hop/R&B game, Mija is going to make fans take notice of his positive message and smooth style. Mija recently spent some time talking to our Webzine about his mission for his music and what fans can expect from him in the coming years.
Isaac: What was the best part of 2009 so far for you musically?
Mija: The best part was finishing my album and remembering the life and music of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
Isaac: What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment for 2008?
Mija: My biggest accomplishment for 2008 was the time I had to plan out my next 4 albums.
Isaac: Describe the music scene in your area.
Mija: The music scene in my area is saturated but fun. Although many here in St. Louis don't network with each other enough, they all know and respect each other. Soon, it'll go from Nellyvile to Mijavile.
Isaac: What has been the best venue to perform at and why?
Mija: There are many I can remember and I loved them all. But, the one that's most remembered was The Pageant. I did a show there on a Thanksgiving eve which was the busiest night of the year and all of St. Louis was there!!!
Isaac: Elaborate a little about whom were your biggest influences in the music industry and why?
Mija: My biggest influences are Babyface, Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Missy Elliot, P Diddy and Russel Simmons. They all have staying power in the industry and so do I.
Isaac: Let's talk about what you feel you will bring to the music industry?
Mija: Like Obama I will definitely bring a change to the industry for the better. Artists these days have not much heart and courage to do things that are cutting edge; just the same old sound and plot over and over.
Isaac: If you had an opportunity to work with one artist or group, who would it be and why?
Mija: It would be Daddy Yankee because he bridges the gap in music.
Isaac: How would you describe your music to others?
Mija: I would describe my music to others as being totally uncut, head-soothing and original.
Isaac: What type of feedback have you received from fans about your music?
Mija: Nothing short of positive response from all angles.
Isaac: What can fans expect from you in the next five years?
Mija: Fans can expect Mija to give them the best!
Isaac: Time for some shout outs to your family, friends, and fans…
Mija: Mad props go out to A1 Entertainment, Kamlegaze productions, my sista Rekha, AV, Mr. A1, Mr Wiggle, Young Blaze, Renee Faulk Jr. A.K.A. TM/Manchild.
Isaac: Final words…
Mija:Stay in school and be positive and make sure you go get the album, "The Woman N U" at CDbaby.com/cd/mija and look out for City Of Gold records...
