She is bringing back to the music industry the sensual side of R&B/Soul music with her sultry smooth vocals. In this recent spotlight with our Webzine, the young talented and sexy R&B artist speaks candidly about her music and the things that make her happy. Enjoy!
Isaac: What was the best part of 2009 so far for you musically?
Nycole: Honestly, I don't think I have had a best or worst yet...year is not over so it's hard to say right now.
Isaac: What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment for 2008?
Nycole: My biggest accomplishment was getting my songs completed so I can showcase to the world :)
Isaac: Describe the music scene in your area.
Nycole: It seems there are not many avenues for R&B/Soul here in Houston, there's a few but not many.
Isaac: What has been the best venue to perform at and why?
Nycole: They all seem about the same; it really depends on who you are dealing with...whether they're cool or just an asshole ;) lol
Isaac: Elaborate a little about whom were your biggest influences in the music industry and why?
Nycole: I would have to say anybody that had a song that could give me chills whether it was somebody people have never heard of or artist as big as Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, SWV, Michael and Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Pat Benatar, Heart...I could go on and on but don't wanna use up too much time.
Isaac: Let's talk about what you feel you will bring to the music industry?
Nycole: I want to bring MUSIC back to the music industry...I miss the way it used to be with real singing and songs that could move you to tears. I want bring the shock factor back to music. I feel that people will truly relate to my music because I have lived or seen others live through the music I write. I want people to feel it.
Isaac: If you had an opportunity to work with one artist or group, who would it be and why?
Nycole: There is many talented artist and groups but I would have to say Alicia Keys because she has the old mixed with the new style and I've always loved that about her. Also, I would have loved to work with the beautiful Aaliyah (rip) but that will not happen now so it's Alicia Keys.
Isaac: How would you describe your music to others?
Nycole: Music definitely for the grown and sexy, men and women, something for the bedroom, something about breaking up, the mushy love song, a song for all musicians...there is a song on there that I think everyone can relate to.
Isaac: What type of feedback have you received from fans about your music?
Nycole: They loooovvvveee the freak me song (lol) both male and female, cant wait to see me perform and that I'm a breath of fresh air.

Isaac: What can fans expect from you in the next five years?
Nycole: Just a whole lotta great music...I got some new stuff I'm working on now, a lot more challenging vocally! And expect to hear the name Nycole August more :)
Isaac: Time for some shout outs to your family, friends, and fans…
Nycole: I would first of all like to shout out to my husband Carl, I love you baby! My son Donavyn, mommy loves you too! My mom, sister Lindsey, brother Curtis, Jorge, My dad, DJ Papi, Stephanie in Oklahoma and all my homie g-dogs in Odessa and H-town (lol)! To my beautiful fans-you are amazing and I appreciate all the continuous support you give-I love you all!
