REDRUM

Our newest interview is a hot up and coming Hip-Hop entertainer who goes by the name of REDRUM. And just like his name, there is more to REDRUM than meets the eye. Check out this interview that the magazine recently had with the entertainer.

Isaac: Briefly describe how you entered into the music industry?

REDRUM: I Started out with battle raps and freestyles and then put a group together, and ended up becoming a solo artist cause the other members stopped pursuing HIP-HOP.

Isaac: What is the most rewarding aspect to making music currently for you?

REDRUM: The Fact that when I write lyrics about my life and struggles in a song, that’s how I breathe (let out frustrations and other emotions)... And when Fans say they can relate to something, I wrote in a line, it makes it all worth it, know what I'm saying?

Isaac: What has discouraged you the most about making music?

REDRUM: The politics, you get caught in the game without getting noticed long enough, then you start making those "F*ck the industry songs" and it’s hard to break away from that.

Isaac: Do you have a personal philosophy about music? If so, what is it?

REDRUM: Never give up, never give up. And never; NEVER GIVE UP!!!

Isaac: When you are performing live in front of an audience, what are the thoughts that are running through you head?

REDRUM: Man it makes all the blood, sweat and tears worth it when I get up on stage and spit in front of the fans!! It’s the love they give that makes this sh*t worth it...

Isaac: Why is being an independent musician important to you?

REDRUM: I’m in charge of what topics I want to write about and all my lyrical content. And, I’m in charge of MY IMAGE (who I really am) and that’s important to me to let the fans know who I really am…

Isaac: Do you think the Internet has altered the path of music as an industry? If so, how?

REDRUM: No question…with out a doubt it made it implode on itself, but for independent artists like myself it’s a way to Platform our otherwise UNHEARD MUSIC…

Isaac: Any advice for other musicians out there when it comes to using the Internet as a medium for getting their music heard to the masses?

REDRUM: YES, it Works. You can do as much work as you want. So Get off you @ss and do it!! You’ll be glad you did trust me...

Isaac: What kind of recording software do you use?

REDRUM: I use Sony sound forge the latest edition with the mastering tools and I arrange with Cakewalk. (That’s the jump off right there) I been using that for ten years now…

Isaac: I know that everybody has his or her idea of a dream artist, someone who for whatever reasons that person would just love to listen to and admire. As an entertainer yourself, if you could play with one of your "dream" musicians, anyone at all, who would it be and why?

REDRUM: It would probably be between Nas or Eminem. Nas for the fact that his story telling ability always keeps me right where I grew up (the streets). And Eminem cause his skills with word play is ridiculous and collaborating with either one would only up my game and make me even sharper as a Rapper.

Isaac: What are you hoping to gain from your experience of being a musician and making music?

REDRUM: To change how people look at people sometimes and think they know what they're all about just by looking at them! Know what I’m sayin dogs?, like there's a whole other side of me that you haven't seen , that’s why I picked the name "REDRUM" cause in the movie the shining the word "redrum" has a whole other side. Same with me, and I ain’t talkin violent. I mean period..

Isaac: What are you hopes for your music in the year 2008?

REDRUM: To have as many fans, get to hear my music, and give me a chance to get on bigger and better stages to platform my music worldwide.

Isaac: This is our Shout Out time. Please give props to anyone and everyone that matters the most to you.

REDRUM: I'd like to shout out My girl who been through the struggle with me when everyone else turned their back when sh*t didn’t look so good.

Isaac: This is Shameless Plug time: Give us some updates on new releases and other projects in the works.

REDRUM: Projects, hmm. I’m on that DJ VLAD "Rock Star blends vol.2 " Mix tape out now . I also got my new single “it’s this thing called life" online at Rhapsody, iTunes & BestBuy Online right now. And for Future sh*t to look out for is my Street Exclusive "guilty as charged" Produced by Super Producer "Rocwilder"... that’s gonna be a Street banga right there. So Big up to Rocwilder for workin wit a up and coming cat on a track , know what I'm saying?... Peace, to all the Fans for showin love for real.. REDRUM 2008 ....

Isaac: Final Thoughts:

REDRUM: HIPHOP is a culture I grew up in, and I’m a Stay Reppin the Underground for life. Peace to all the Rap Pioneers, cause without them, I wouldn’t be here. Peace, REDRUM...
