Ladies, it is still the spring of the year and all the vibrant colors in. Picking the right colors that are versatile and compliment your skin tone is very important. During this time of the year; Aqua and Blues are beautiful with nude lips or a light bronzed lip. Try these colors for the aqua and blue family.

Medium Complexion: Mac's "Aquadisiac" on the lid, and "Gesso" as a highlighter. To get a smoked appearance, try "Deep Truth" in the corners. Lips- " Myth".

Dark Complexion: Mac's "Deep shade" on the lid, and "Yogurt" as a highlighter. To get a smoked appearance, try "Plumage" in the corners. Lips-"Fresh Brew".

Spring

April Edition

April's Color is Pink!

Welcome to the spring Ladies! I'm so excited about such a colorful time of the year: from the hues of blue to the essence of yellow and lavender. Whether your favorite color is pink (mine!) or purple, the eyes tell it all. The eyes can tell everything about a woman. The colors she choose to wear, indicates whether she is a drama queen, laid-back lady, sassy chick with a little swagger.

If you're a drama queen: Apply Mac's "Passionate" on the inside of lid of the eye. Darken the crease and the outer lid of the eye with Mac's "Nocturnelle". Line the top of the eye at an angle with MAC's liquid liner to create a more dramatic effect. Line the bottom of the eye with Passionate using an eye liner brush. Line the bottom of the eye only halfway with black eye liner. Line the lips with Mac's "Velvetella" and fill with "Dark Side" Lipstick.

Laid Back: Mac's "Star's and Rocket's" on the lid and halfway to the brow. Fill in the crease and outside of the eye with Mac's "Beauty Marked". Apply a thin liner on the top and bottom, and finish with adding Mac's "Pink Poodle".

Sassy Chick with a Little Swagger: Mac's "Earthly Riches Mineralized Duo" Have fun with this one. There are two colors for you to enjoy. Apply Purple on the lid, Dark Smoke Purple in the outside of the crease. Lining the top of the eyes is not a necessity for this color choice, however a lining the bottom of the eye draws attention to the top of the eye. Apply "Looks Like Sin" Cremesheen Glass lip-gloss by Mac to the lips.

**These looks can go from day-to-night. No matter what the affair may be. Need a look for prom or a special event-you know what to do! Email me.

Make-up

By: Miracle Hempel
Published: March 03, 2009 12:30 AM EST

Ladies, the spring is almost here, and it is time to bring out the new you! Now that you have your skin care under control, let's talk about make-up. I stand by companies like MAC, Lancôme, and Fashion Fair, because these companies create make-up that has true color that lat for women color with different skin types. Yes, I do know that these are high end make up products however the typically last 4- months per bottle ($26) versus products made by Black Radiance or Milani that last for about 1-2 months($7). Ok, now you do the math!!! So, go to your nearest Belk or Macy's department store to find the MAC counter. Treat yourself. You deserve it.

Makeup displays beautifully when it is applied with a powder brush for all you compact powder users or a flat or round brush for the liquid foundation users. Use a concealer for dark spots or underneath the eyes for even finishing before applying makeup. I use MAC's concealer that looks just like a pencil for accurate application. Primer is also great to use especially for that glam look you have been dying to try.

Next is eye shadow. Build your palette on colors you are comfortable with. We will talk about adding color that spice things up later next month. Women who don't like a lot of color should use earth tones to keep that natural soft glow. Try MAC's bronze. For the more sophisticated lady, try wearing soft rose. Ladies when you are ready to bring that Diva side of yourself try using MAC's Silversmith mineralized eye shadow.

Don't forget about you mascara and eyeliner. Use mascara that is waterproof. I love MAC's akonl pencil for eyeliner. It is nothing wrong with fluid, and eyeliner, but if you're not good at putting it on, it can become time consuming if you're in a rush.

Skin Care

By: Miracle Hempel
Published: February 01, 2009 11:38 PM EST

The first step in skin care is selecting the proper regime. Women with oily skin should use products with salysic acid, grapefruit extract, or products made with pure oatmeal. Dry skin or combination of oily/dry skin should use products with shea butter, cocoa butter, or olive oil extract. Always wash your face with the same temperature you wash the rest of your body, although lukewarm water is recommended.

Washing your face with water at the right temperature prevents over drying the skin, especially in the fall/winter months. You should never apply more product than what you need to cleanse your skin. Always use a nickel size amount of the product. Using a toner or purifier is also essential this cools the skin and removes extra dirt left behind after washing. It is not uncommon to remove extra dirt or oil after washing your face. Using a loafa or exfoliators is a great idea for deep cleansing, but should only be used once a week.

Please end your daily regime with moisturizer regardless of the type of skin you have. Select moisturizers with spf protection. Using a moisturizer is a skin protector from debris and the sun.

There are moisturizers that are versatile to skin types.

My favorite is Clinique daily "Face the day" moisturizer.
