Sixty 8
If you are a fan of the 80's classic rock era like we are at Junior's Cave, then you are going to flip over for this next band, Sixty 8. With a sound the mixes heavy metal with a classic rock feel, Sixty 8 is the band to look out for in the next few years. We are excited to bring you this special feature with Sixty 8 as we get up close and personal with Sixty 8.
Isaac: What was the best part of 2008 for you musically?
Sixty 8: The release of our debut full-length CD "Before the Fall."
Isaac: What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment for 2008?
Sixty 8: Sixty 8's "Before the Fall" was nominated "Rock Album of the Year" by the L.A. Music Awards. Our single "Any Race Of Man" has won "Inspirational Song of the Year" from the L.A. Music Awards.
Isaac: Describe the music scene in area.
Sixty 8: Colorado Springs is still searching for its own music scene.
Isaac: What has been the best venue to perform at and why?
Sixty 8: We have always loved the Union Station because of its raw nature. You can't fake it there.
Isaac: Elaborate a little about whom were your biggest influences in the music industry and why?
Sixty 8: This band has too many musical influences to completely list. Most of our flavor comes from 80's hair band metal.
Isaac: Let's talk about what you feel you will bring to the music industry?
Sixty 8: We play Nu-Classic Rock, which we feel is a lost genre. We intend to help bring it back.
Isaac: If you had an opportunity to work with one artist or group, who would it be and why?
Sixty 8: The Beatles. Each song had its own identity and each song could be played in any style. The writing was beyond brilliant.
Isaac: How would you describe your music to others?
Sixty 8: Nu-Classic Rock / Retro-Metal.
Isaac: What type of feedback have you received from fans about your music?
Sixty 8: Tryg's mom loves us!!! We have really struck a chord with the reviewers across the pond. The people that have heard us, enjoy us. We just haven't been able to reach out far enough.
