Snew
For all the hard core Rock-n-Roll music lovers in the world, are you ready to get Snewed!? In this recent interview with Curtis, our Webzine gets the lowdown on the band. Enjoy!
Interview with Curtis Don Vito from Snew:
Isaac: What was the best part of 2009 so far for you musically?
Curtis: Going out on our first US tour. We went from here in L.A. all the way to Michigan. It was amazing for us to play in parts of the country we'd never been to before. We can't wait to go back out again and hit the rest of the country. After that, we will shoot for Europe.
Isaac: What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment for 2008?
Curtis: The release of our debut album "Snew You" of course. Since then, everything has happened for us. Fans all over the planet, radio, magazines. We are Snewing the world.
Isaac: Describe the music scene in your area.
Curtis: The music scene in L.A. is slow. Seems all the real hard rock fans are everywhere but here. We do have some big Snew followers here but we get more emails and sell more CDs in the Midwest, on the East Coast and in Europe, Canada and Australia.
Isaac: What has been the best venue to perform at and why?
Curtis: Here in Hollywood we've played 'em all. The Whisky A Go Go was great just to say we were on the same stage as The Doors. We love playing the Cat Club; it's like home for us we play there so much. All our friends come out and its one big party. Our new favorite places to play are The Blooze in Phoenix because the people out there are real old fashioned rock and rollers who know exactly how to act at a Snew show.
Also, the Back Bar in Janesville, Wisconsin; it's got a huge stage they play us on the radio out there so
tons of people were waiting for us to come to town and they all treated us like rockstars. We can't wait to go back.
Isaac: Elaborate a little about whom were your biggest influences are in the music industry and why?
Curtis: Kiss, AC/DC, Motorhead and The Ramones. They all play music that is bigger than life and when you listen to it you feel like God. Without these bands, there would be no Snew.
Isaac: Let's talk about what you feel you will bring to the music industry?
Curtis: Supercharged high energy rock and roll! There are just not enough bands playing that stuff, so we took it upon ourselves to do something about it.
Isaac: If you had an opportunity to work with one artist or group, who would it be and why?
Curtis: Lemmy from Motorhead. He's the definition of Bad-Ass! No one has inspired us more. He's been doing his thing since the sixties and he just keeps on going. Every Motorhead album is bigger and higher octane than the last. We'd just like to get in a room with him to say thank you.
Isaac: How would you describe your music to others?
Curtis: To understand us all, you have to do is shout SNEW YOU at the top of your lungs. Go ahead, do that right now. I'll wait.
No.... LOUDER! Do you ya feel it? That's Snew.
Isaac: What type of feedback have you received from fans about your music?
Curtis: We've actually had people thank us for putting out the album. The reviews have been over the top from fans and critics all over the planet.
We must be doing something right. It just is an amazing feeling to know people like what we are doing as much as we do.
Isaac: Where can fans locate you at online?
Curtis: Go to SnewYou.com for everything related to the band, go to SnewWorldOrder.com to join the street team and meet us on SnewSpace.com to talk to us and other Snewheads, it's our own version of MySpace only better. Then there is SnewStore.com to get our CDs and paraphernalia.
Isaac: What can fans expect from you in the next five years?
Curtis: We are working on our next album right now. We hope to release it by the end of the year. After that, we will be going back out on tour. Over the next five years and beyond you can expect more of the same. More albums, more tours and we will just keep on doing it until we are on top of a mountain somewhere playing in front of billions of Snewheads.
Isaac: Time for some shout outs to your family, friends, and fans…
Curtis: We have to thank our producer Bobby Owsinski for being willing to take us back into the studio to get the Snewing of a lifetime for this next record.
You're a sucker for punishment my man, that's why we love ya.
