Isaac: Hi Joshua. Welcome to your interview with Junior's Cave. Now that 2008 has
officially ended, what are your reflections of the year 2008 for The WildCat?
The WildCat: We had a banner year in 2008--We recorded a studio and live album, started heavy PR, played both the West and East coasts-- and destroyed some guys Honda Accord in New York! (Fender Bender).
Isaac: How did you come up with the concept for The WildCat?
The WildCat: The WildCat concept is just a logical extension of our passions for Rock 'N Roll and playing what we love.
Isaac: Elaborate a little about whom were your biggest influences in the music industry
and why?
The WildCat: Anything that really "moves" you man. That's the "who". There is music out there that makes you STOP and listen, it grabs you and says-- you're not living if you haven't heard
me. That's the "why".
Isaac: Let's talk about what you feel The WildCat will bring to the music industry?
The WildCat: Look, at the end of the day-- we are in the unique position fiscally, to be able to make music that we are "passionate" about. We focus on that passion, and give it to you
distilled in the form of a CD, a performance, a look. We just want to give people our
passion, and put that BACK into the music scene.
Isaac: If you had an opportunity to work with one artist or group, who would it be and
why?
The WildCat: To be honest and not to sound "evasive", but I'm not sure-- if the opportunity presented itself-- that we would really be "working" with an artist/engineer/group; there's a lot
of "ego/cache/experience" when you walk into a room with some of these cats (cause we
work in film/TV/music). So, maybe you don't really "work" with them as much as they work
you (haha). But that's the "why".
We would be HONORED to MEET certain folks- dead/living- Jack White/Rick Rubin/Johnny
Cash/Bob Marley/Jimi/Zep/Neil Young/Beethoven/Django/Duke E/Miles-- the list goes on. To
be "accepted" into that "class" of cats and treated as an equal, not an outsider or
musical mistake- that would be something.
Isaac: How would you describe your music to others?
The WildCat: We just make good, stomp-your-foot Rock 'N Roll.
Isaac: What type of feedback have you received from your previous releases?
The WildCat: We have received tons of feedback both positive and negative which is totally cool. Not everybody is going to dig our music and that's fine as long as they leave honest
feedback; we don't take it personally.
Isaac: What can fans expect from your latest CD you are working on currently? What is
the inspiration behind the CD?
The WildCat: You can expect some flavors of Rock 'N Roll new and old; at least one or two tunes you'll dig; but you should have an "album" on the whole--that is, something you could put in the player and listen the WHOLE way through. That notion of the "album" is fading, and that's our inspiration-- to give you something to just listen to like an LP.
Isaac: What can fans expect from The WildCat in 2009?
The WildCat: 2009 will be cool-- because we are getting way more exposure in films, playing live and on the radio; we also started working on ANOTHER album (release in September).
Isaac: Time for some shout outs to your family, friends, and fans…
The WildCat: We know its tough times (economically) right now but THANKS to all those who still support live music by going to live shows and buying independent music.
Isaac: Final words from The WildCat …
The WildCat: Don't get in our way or we will crush you like we did to Jacks car in New York! (hahaha)
