This next soulful artist is making a big splash on the music industry with her sweet sensational sassy style. The rising R&B/Pop singer, Thia Jasmine, has all the right elements that will make her a big hit with music fans. The Canadian native grew up in the beautiful and diverse city of Montreal where through her mother the songstress was introduced to the Haitian folk dance troupe named Mapou ginen. Now, she is taking her roots and adding her unique flavor to her music. Recently, the entertainer spent some time speaking with us in this fun and delightful interview about her music and everything else in between. Here is what formulated.
Isaac: What was the best part of 2009 so far musically?
Thia: So far, every single step of the realization of my first album that is soon to be released, I'm happy because I am achieving one of my dreams.
Isaac: What was the best accomplishment for 2008?
Thia: Doing what I like to do, which is music.
Working hard at what I do, to be ready to get on stage and share my story, my music with people.
Isaac: Describe the music scene in Canada.
Thia: I would say that it's much more of a fresh music industry since it's more of a fresh city that I'm living in...
Isaac: What has been the best venue to perform at & why?
Thia: We are actually preparing to go all out for our fans & we will be coming to your town or wherever they want THIA to sing. I will be there.
Isaac: Elaborate a little about whom were your biggest influences in the music industry and why?
Thia: Michael Jackson of course, Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Celine Dion, Mary J Bilges, Nina Simone, Alicia keys & so many more. I'm a music lover. They have given me the (passion to sing) passions of singing because they came and touched my soul with what god has blessed them with… & I thought this was just a beautiful way to connect with people and share love.
Isaac: Let's talk about what you feel you will bring to the music industry?
Thia: First, I am a lover of life; I feel I have a story to share with people; anyway, don't we all have a story, a message of love, hope, happiness & peace. I am just following my heart's desire and it's usually the right path to (take, not walk on) walk on, that's what I have come to learn.
Isaac: If you had an opportunity to work with one artist or group, who would it be and why?
Thia: Oh my! I sincerely would like to do a duet with Seal; I think he has an angel's voice he just makes me cry when I listen to his angelic voice.
Isaac: How would you describe your music to others?
Thia: A sound that will come and get you through your soul.
I don't want to categorize my music I will let other people do that (don't need the word job) job
I just want to do good music.
Isaac: what type of feedback have you received from fans about your music?
Thia: Well so far, only positive & constructive comments. & I am grateful for that!

Thia: My best, Good product, good quality, electrifying performances & lots of fun.
