Our Webzine presents the magnificent duo of Vyce N' Versah who have been performing together for a very long time and creating a wonderful sound that mixes several elements of genres. Music lovers are going to enjoy the creative and solid style that the two artists have created. In this recent spotlight, we speak to Vyce N' Versah about their musical influences and what makes them love to make music. Here is what formulated from our online conversation.

Isaac: Let’s get started with this interview. When and how did you first become interested in music? How long have you been playing music?

Vyce N' Versah: Well Versah and I met in the 5th grade during a stealing girlfriend issue which can be explained another time. We didn’t really like each other, actually that’s an understatement, we hated each other, but I and Versah ended up having band together in 6th grade. We made up and became friends. I played the sax and Versah the baritone. From there, we took choir classes and started writing songs together throughout middle and high school, and the rest is history!

Isaac: Who would you say are your biggest musical influences and why?

Vyce N' Versah: Right now in this time period, I would have to say Usher. I’ve followed his career since the beginning and he’s always been making very good music. I admire all of the work he’s put it all of these years. Back in the day, like around the 90s era, we would have to say Boyz II Men. I haven’t heard one bad song from them. Best R&B group, hands down.

Isaac: What has been the greatest highpoint in your career so far?

Vyce N' Versah: I’d say, performing in front of thousands, opening for acts such as Wisin Y Yandel, Kris Y Angel, Fiction Plane, and Trey Songz.

Isaac: What has been the greatest disappointment in your career so far?

Vyce N' Versah: Not being able to perform every day. Music is who we are and what we love so by not singing we hurt a little inside.

What did you learn from that experience?

Vyce N' Versah: We must write and compose everyday and fight to get our voices/music heard. Music is about passion and sacrifice so we must continue to pursue that by any means necessary.

Isaac: What draws you to want to play the type of music that you do?

Vyce N' Versah: Well we sing a lot of pop now because of the fact it’s played a lot in clubs and it’s very good for radio, but R&B is what’s in our roots. I believe it’s because your able to dig deep down inside what you’re feeling and put it into words and then into melodies. A lot of club music is mostly about a girl you see or meet and you want to take home but when we actually sit down and start to write to a piano or Spanish guitar, you’ll hear talk about our current situations, past relationships, love, hate. Etc. So I would have to say life experiences and the love for music is what draws us to play our type of music.

Isaac: What do you feel it takes to play this type of music that you play?

Vyce N' Versah: Well it depends, because we do a huge variety of music, but I think it takes a lot of experiences to write the type of music. Stuff you’ve been through, or stuff your doing now that influences you to get new ideas. I believe traveling is very good for the song writers mind. Seeing new places and new people gets our minds going.

Isaac: What do you think you will create that will make your performances and who you are stand out in the music industry?

Vyce N' Versah: Music that makes your head nod and hands fly while moving your body to a state of ecstasy.

Isaac: If you had the opportunity to do one cover, what cover would you do and why? How would you put your own spin on this cover?

Vyce N' Versah: Shai - If I Ever Fall In Love Again. It’s just a really good song. I can actually say it’s a perfect song. One, because it’s acapela, and two because the lyrics are flawless. I would definite make it into a pop club song since the original is very smooth R&B.

Isaac: What does it take to be a good songwriter?

Vyce N' Versah: I believe it’s not something that can be made or created. Songwriting is something that you’re born with. Just having good new ideas all the time, not only for new songs but for business and life on its’ own. Definitely a lot of love and passion for music and support what music has to offer to the World. It’s a pure gift from God.

Isaac: How difficult is it to juggle music, family and work obligation, and life in general? Explain.

Vyce N' Versah: More than you know! It is difficult because we live in different cities, which in some cases makes it hard to write or even perform. We have different work schedules as well which causes issues with photo shoots and studio time but our Management team keeps us on point with all that.

Isaac: What is your definition of being an Indie artist/band?

Vyce N' Versah: Being able to be you!

Isaac: In five years…….

Vyce N' Versah: We'd like to tour the globe and have a number one album on the billboard top 100.
