Do you remember when Hip-Hop was scratching, turn-tables, graffiti art and emceeing?
Growing up during the 70’s when Hip-Hop spawned a cultural movement was electrifying to say the least. The list of artists who revolutionized Hip-Hop such as Kool Herc & the Herculoids, Kurtis Blow, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five and so many others is endless.
Yet the face and sound of Hip-Hop has evolved. And I for one am glad that there are still some acts willing to come out and represent Hip-Hop music with originality and conscious lyrics.
With acts such as Common, Mos Def, The Roots, Nas, and Little Brother keeping the Hip-Hop Movement alive, E.A.R.T.H. has bounded on the scene to keep the evolution moving. From their catchy name, E.A.R.T.H. (Everything Around Revolves Thru Hip-Hop), to their fresh funky style, this group will be giving the Hip-Hop Culture something to boast and brag about again.
E.A.R.T.H.’s mission statement reads, "We hope to get the masses influenced by our sound of hip hop. Many have come before and never will they be forgotten. We are the newcomers to a tradition that must be upheld". Please recognize where E.A.R.T.H. is heading with their music and what they are hoping to achieve.
The members of the group E.A.R.T.H. consist of Ro Tone aka Sinister XL, Double Negative, NoE, and Write Words. These individuals are of Filipino, African American, German, El Salvadorian, Persian and Irish descent; little wonder the moniker E.A.R.T.H. fits them so well.
