New Music Spotlight:
Fletch

Fletchrocks.com

Take five super talented guys all who are from one hot smoking city, Las Vegas, and put them in a band and you will get Fletch. The band origins began in a math class where band members Ryan, Guitarist, met Jessie, Bassist. From there, Ryan knew he wanted to start a band while still in High School. The two of them begin to construct their plan to fulfill this dream. I currently had the pleasure to discover their MySpace profile and let me tell you folks—I am hooked. Here is an online interview where Nick, Drummer, will go into more of their origins and what they are hoping to get from the music industry.

Isaac-Joseph: Thanks for taking the time to do this interview for the magazine. I must say that I am very impressed with your music and the enormous talent. In your bio, Fletch has an interesting beginning. Could you expound on how the band was formed? Talk about your experience of getting the right drummer for the band. I read in your bio that this was a great challenge for the band:

Nick: Well, I wasn't in the band when it first started, but I know the story. Tony, Ryan, and Jessie were all at the same school and wanted to start a band. The guys were a four member band with a different drummer at the time. Tony was doing lead vocals and guitar. Then, the guys decided they wanted to change up there music style and get a lead guy and have Tony play more piano than guitar. So the band found Diego who was actually in a different band and they [the band] “stole” him (pretty much); then their drummer left to do other things. So as a result, they had a fill in drummer for a bit and the guys played with my old band when I still lived in Utah. I [Nick] later found out that they needed a full time drummer so I got in contact with them and drove out to Vegas to try out and I guess they liked me or something.

Nick: Ha! Well again. They had a fill in drummer and I just decided this might be the thing to do, but they didn't have a full time drummer for along time.

Isaac-Joseph: Why make music? What is the driving force that pulls you towards music in your opinion?

Nick: Well, I know everyone says this, but music is REALLY my life. I'm not good at anything else, and I had a hard time paying attention in school. And it’s amazing that I graduated, but seriously music is the best thing going for me!

Isaac-Joseph: Describe how you feel when you are performing live on stage:

Nick: I love playing shows. If it’s for 3 kids or for thousands of kids, I love doing it. It just feels way right to me

Isaac-Joseph: Many of your songs have so much energy to them. What is the driving force to writing your lyrics and music?

Nick: Well, I don't write many lyrics, but I do try to think of very creative drum parts and things to keep everything interesting and make me stand out.

Isaac-Joseph: You don’t hear about to many bands from your area; describe the Music scene in Las Vegas:

Nick: I think the music scene here is way awesome. The kids are way cool to us, and they support Vegas bands a lot; our fans are the best fans in the world hands down.

Isaac-Joseph: What role does your fan play in making the music that you do?

Nick: Fans make everything possible; without them there would be no band or no reason to be playing shows, ya know?!

Isaac-Joseph: I read in your bio that your label was looking for bands in the youthful market and they wanted you. How has working with your label been for the band?

Nick: It’s been awesome! They help us out a ton!! And their super chill; we get along with them so well!

Isaac-Joseph: What are some new developments coming up for Fletch?

Nick: Well, were writing a new record right now and we are planning on recording it in January and yah that’s really exciting. And a bunch more tours!

Isaac-Joseph: The floor is yours—Final thoughts you would like to share with the audience of Juniorscave.com.

Nick: Uhmm... Stay in school and come to our shows; and buy our CD!

Special Thanks to Nick for setting this up for the band.
