By: JUNIOR DAVIS

I have had the pleasure to talk with this local talent online. Check out my recent Interview with TRAP BOI. Trust me folks; you will enjoy this one.

JUNIOR: When and why did you start performing?
TRAP BOI: We just got a distribution deal with a indie label called Fast Money Records and they're giving us numbers to booking agents in Jacksonville so we'll be peforming soon.

JUNIOR: Do you do any singing as well as rapping?
TRAP BOI: Naw, we've got no singers at the moment but we got two groups and a solo artist. SGC (Southside Georgia Click) the members are G-SparXX & Young Glynn and we got Black Connection the members are Big B, Kyll Roi, P.A. Streetz & Iceberg. And we've got our solo act Konsequence from Philly.

JUNIOR: What was the first tune(s)/flow/lyrics you learned?
TRAP BOI: The first song I ever learned was SugarHill Gang "Rapper's Delight". It's a classic that's like the first song every true hip hop fan should know.

JUNIOR: Is your family musical?
TRAP BOI: Not really...I've got two other cousins that's apart of the label that rap that's about it. But Trap Boi is a family so in a way yea.

JUNIOR: Describe your family member's musical interests and abilities.
TRAP BOI: Well we like Hip Hop..a little R&B here and there to set the mood.

JUNIOR: Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?
TRAP BOI: 2pac, Biggie, Camoflauge, Eminem, Bone Thugs, UGK, Geto Boys, Three 6 Mafia, Outkast, Cassidy, Dipset, theres plenty more.

JUNIOR: Which famous musicians have you learned from?
TRAP BOI: Well I'll would say Pac, Camoflauge, And Biggie Smalls. They really helped me to really know how to rap and become more lyrical.

JUNIOR: Who was your first musical teacher? Other teachers?
TRAP BOI: I tought myself really. Skills elevated over the years.

JUNIOR: Describe your first time performing in front of an audience.
TRAP BOI: A talent show in high school was our first break of fame. I was nervous didn't know if they'd like my music or not but you know who wouldn't be nervous?

JUNIOR: What are your fondest musical memories? In your house? In your neighborhood or town?
TRAP BOI: When my friend Greg told me that everybody on the Brunswick's Southside was bumping our new single "Represent". We was passing out flyers and demos and I guess everybody was bumping our music.

JUNIOR: Were you influenced by old records & tapes? Which ones?
TRAP BOI: It'll have to be tapes. Ready To Die by Biggie, Outkast's Southernplayalistickcadillacmuzik, NWA's Straight Outta Compton, we can go on for days.

JUNIOR: Who are your favorite musicians? Groups? CD's?
TRAP BOI: Biggie Smalls "Life After Death Disc 1", 2pac "Me Against The World", and Camoflauge's "Strictly 4 Da Streetz (Drugs, Sex And Violence vol. 1)

JUNIOR: Have you been in competitions?
TRAP BOI: Yeah we've be in competitions with other rappers trying to make it in the game everyday. We want the hottest products in the streets so we competing against the people who feel the same way.

JUNIOR: Do you perform in public? Describe those occasions? Concerts, radio, TV?
TRAP BOI: No, but we will in the future.

JUNIOR: Why should folks listen to your music?
TRAP BOI: If anybody wants that real street music, you'll listen to artists on Trap Boi Records. We rap about what we've been through, seen, and what we know. We keep it 100% real never fraud lyrics in our songs.

JUNIOR: How do you handle mistakes during a performance?
TRAP BOI: Well, I would keep moving because if you stop then you kinda choked right? But, I doubt that happend. It's more likely to happen to a singer that has to do all them dance steps we just get crunk on stage and will rock the crowd and I'll never forget my lyrics!

JUNIOR: Do you get nervous before a performance or a competition?
TRAP BOI: Depending on the crowd size, but we'll end up getting used to it.

JUNIOR What advice would you give to beginners who are nervous?
TRAP BOI: Nah mean, just go with the flow this is a business keep it professional. Handle ya biz on the stage do what you do best. You're most likely getting paid unless you're doing promo concerts either way it's helping you get paper so get over it and do what you gotta do!

JUNIOR: Do you attend sessions? What makes a good session?
TRAP BOI: When you have good beats, that'll get the flow going. No mess ups and a pack of newports.

JUNIOR: How often and for how long do you practice?
TRAP BOI: I write a song then I keep reading the lyrics over and over till I remember at least 90% of it in my head so I can go in the studio and not have to worry about mess ups.

JUNIOR: What do you practice - exercises, new tunes, hard tunes, etc.?
TRAP BOI: Im a rapper I use my pen and pad and i recite my lyrics.

JUNIOR: Do you teach others your skills?
TRAP BOI: Nah, but it's possible that they can be influenced through my music. I can give you tips on how to record in the studio but on how to rap I can't do that some people aren't cut out for rapping.

JUNIOR: How do you balance your music with other obligations - mate, children, job?
TRAP BOI: Music is my life...My fulltime job...So take that how you wanna take it.

JUNIOR: Overall, where do you see yourself in the next five years?
TRAP BOI: I see me and my click signed to Def Jam or Universal through a distribution deal. All of our artists going Gold and higher. And I picture us getting money like the black bill gates. I see Orlando, Philly, Brunswick all blowing up. And I think other small towns are going to hop on Brunswick's band wagon and start claiming Brunswick when the rap scene get big here.

JUNIOR: What makes your music stand out fron the millions of other music in the rap/hip hop genre?
TRAP BOI: To be honest, most of the people in the game are phony. They haven't experienced the stuff they rap about. It's too much fakers in the game not enough realness. And in Georgia theres only a few lyricist but we're trying to keep it like that in the 912.

JUNIOR: What about sex appeal? how much does that play a part in your music?
TRAP BOI: Well, for R&B artists you get all the females loving you. Rappers get the same loving sometime I don't know really.

JUNIOR: Do you have any last thoughts you would like to let Junior's Cave's audience know about you?
TRAP BOI: Be on the lookout for our new mixtape called "Get Usesd 2 It vol. 1" and if you are from the Orlando, Brunswick, Savannah, Jacksonville or whateva you gonna see this mixtape!! Also check out our myspace page for more updates www.myspace.com/trapboirecords. SGC "Youngest In Charge" the album coming soon. Black Connection "The Beginning of The End" coming soon.
