Calendar: What in your opinion is the number one mistake made in any relationship?

J: Fear, coupled with instant gratification. People often rush into things before they get to know each other, and then they are afraid to break it off. And they might grow bored or realize they are not with who they thought they were with. And then eyes wander, scandals are committed, and pain is suffered; long story short, of course.

Calendar: Do you think modern romance is dead?

View BrightDiamond.com's Specials!

J: If it's not dead, it's on life support. I meet a few genuine, sincere gentlemen from time to time. I'm very close with them even still. And those are the ones I don't commit to. It's either because I'm afraid that it will be long, LONG term and I'm not ready for that, or perhaps it's because I'm afraid that after all of my past experiences, I'm not convinced that, at least for now, I won't be able to offer the same. But true people can still bring out the true romance from one another. Two people who are deeply infatuated with each other are fully capable of running away, getting a cozy hotel room, shutting off their cell phones and all ties to the outside world, and enjoying one another amongst a bottle of wine, a few candles, and a warm bath. It's those intimate moments that you never forget.

Calendar: What was the last romantic thing that someone special did for you?

J: Someone told me how he feels about me. It set me apart from everyone else in his life, and I really felt special for the first time in a long time. Prior to that, he baked me the best home-made chocolate chip cookies I've ever had!

Calendar: Do you consider yourself a role model or what do you think makes a good role model:

J: I certainly DON'T think I'm a good role model. I think a good one is very hopeful and optimistic and doesn't let adversity stop him/her from achieving something. I think I'm a little slow going at that. I never give up, and I always make it to my goal, but I think my methods are, at times, questionable.

Calendar: Describe a perfect day:

J: A perfect day is one that starts out in the early autumn in Central Park. It's a day to jump on the subway and go where ever, with no concrete obligations; just a free day to explore and experience, and to have an eager companion by your side every step of the way.

Calendar: Thanks for your great spotlight this month.

We at Junior's Cave would like to thank J, our Man of the Month, for taking the time to do this quick spotlight for Junior's Cave. If you think you have what it takes to be our man or woman of the month, send your photos to:
