Gospel Today: Jonathan, thanks for taking the time to be featured in Gospel Today format on Junior's Cave. You are our official first Christian of the Month. This is a new segment on Gospel Today.

>>> My pleasure.

Gospel Today: So, shall we formally open this Christian of the Month interview? Let's start with the basic. Your name, hometown, and a little about your background.

>>>Well, my name is Jonathan Miller. I was born in Greensboro, NC, raised in Jacksonville, FL, but I also lived in Coral Springs (Ft. Lauderdale area) for 5 years. I've been in the Army for the past 31 months and I have 29 left. I'm currently deployed in Afghanistan and should be back in the states sometime in January of 2007. I'm stationed at Fort Drum, NY where I live while I'm in the Army.

Gospel Today: Gospel Today wants to know what heroic qualities you would say you possess.

>>> That's one question I've never thought about before. This is going to sound a bit macho but I think my lack of fear (except for spiders) is a plus. I'd be willing to do just about anything no matter how dangerous as long as I thought there would be a probable chance of me surviving. I love to take risks and push the limit (when it's fun). My personal character is very strong. I am very partial to my beliefs and I do not fluctuate in that area. I know who I am and where I'm headed. Part of my life mission statement is to make a positive impact in the world. I want to be able to help people to fulfill their dreams.

Gospel Today: Here's your chance, Jonathan. What's the one thing you want women to know about men?

>>>1st, We're not all evil.
2nd, We don't think like you, so just because we say something doesn't mean their's an ulterior motive.
3rd, Don't consider staying with a guy if he cheats on you before you're married.

Gospel Today: Is there something you've always wanted to know about women (but were afraid to ask?)

>>>Yes, but I like learning as I go. It makes it more interesting.

Gospel Today: How old were you when you went out on your first date?

>>>I don't really remember, maybe 15??

Gospel Today: First kiss?

>>>Actually 17, believe it or not...

Gospel Today: Getting back to the topic of women and men... what do you think most Christian men look for in a Christian woman? Do you think it is a good personality at first?

>>> For me at least:
Personality is very important but not the first thing. Like anything whether it's a book, food, toy, or girl, I think we all look for something that is attractive to the eye. I have a list of traits that I look for in a woman but I cannot have a wife (or girlfriend) that I am not attracted to. It's just basic humanity. All men desire an attractive wife. There are three parts to a woman: her looks, her personality, and her spirituality. If she does not shine in all three areas then it will not work out between us.

Gospel Today: What catches your eye when you see a beautiful woman for the first time?

>>> Well once I've established that she's beautiful I'd have to say her eyes and the way she walks and how she talks to people.

Gospel Today: Switching topics ... anything you'd like the Junior's Cave's female audience to know about you?

>>>I hope I am not misunderstood or viewed in a negative light. I'm just trying to be honest while still remaining tactful. Trust and Integrity are my two traits that I hold high above the others.

Gospel Today: What are the three most important qualities any Christian woman should look for in man that may be hardest to find?

>>>1: Is he a man of God? because if not, then what is he a man of?
2: His relationship with his mother; how does he get along with her and how does he treat her? as a girlfriend or wife these should be two of the most important.
and 3: Is he well respected by others? How do his peers see him? How is his trust and integrity?

Gospel Today: So, what qualities should Christian men search for in their women?

>>>I think Proverb 31 states it the best, but to paraphrase, she must be the following: Noble, strong, capable, with strong convictions, trustworthy, compassionate, a hard worker, resourceful, well respected, willing to go the extra mile, disciplined, intelligent, slow to anger, a woman that uses her mind and thinks things through, caring, extends her hands to the needy, loves children, confident, wise, faithful, and a woman who fears the Lord.

Gospel Today: How has serving in the Armed Forces changed you? Give us a little background as to why you decided to join your branch:

>>> It has matured me. I was 18 when I signed up, 19 when I came in, 21 now, and I'll be 24 when I get out. I've learned a lot about people, cultures, and leadership. I learned limitations of my mind, body, and soul. It has made me realize even more of who I am. I joined the Army over the other branches because of a certain job I wanted in intelligence.

Gospel Today: How has your family been during your time oversees?

>>> They have been very supportive and I love them very much for it. I talk to them weekly. I miss them very much and look forward to seeing them again come this winter.

Gospel Today: What is the one thing you miss the most back home?

>>>Things we take for granted... my own room, going out to eat, freedom, going to a real church, high speed internet, my own car, that kinda stuff.

Gospel Today: For all the young boys and girls who will be reading this also, do you have any words for them about the future, staying in school, saying no to drugs or anything else that comes to mind?

>>>Yah, God gave you a brain for a reason, don't trash it with filth, but use it. Learn what drives you and what you desire to do more than anything. Once you have that figured out then you only begin to see what God's calling is for your life.

Gospel Today: In your opinion, what does it take to be a role model or do you think being a role model is something that comes with certain status in life?

>>>To be a role model, one person has to look up to you or admire you. It takes no status. At the very least I am a role model to my brother (who is 15) and he loves me for it. and I love him.

Gospel Today: Describe the perfect date:

>>>hmm... On a boat in the ocean. jet skiing , waterskiing, parasailing, and just relax in the sun with no worries. Theme parks are always a fun time, too.

Gospel Today: What is the thing you have always wanted to do but have not done yet?

>>>Visit Every country in the world and learn every major language.

Gospel Today: Any last thoughts Jonathan:

>>Don't purchase things on impulse and don't false asleep in on a train in Eastern Europe without securing your belongings...personal experience. Treat others as you want to be treated. Love and be loved. LATER!
