When JC became our Man of the Month for April 2006, everyone at JC Calendar knew we had someone special. JC the Truth is one of the hardest young artists out here in the business. What's more--he is our man of the year and a good representation of what it means to be a positive role model. Jeff Clark, JC the Truth, who was born in Penns Grove, NJ, adopted by Philadelphia, PA, & following dreams in NYC JC the Truth is going all the way to the top. Here is a brief update on the man of the year:

JC Calendar: Congrats on being our Man of the Year for 2006. Any insights to what 2007 will be like for our Man of the Year?

- First I just want to say thank you for choosing me as Man of the Year. There's a lot of men out there, (laughs), so I'm very grateful for being your first pick. Seriously though... I've got a feeling 2007 will bring lot's of hard-work. But if you know me... I'm up for the challenge and ready to face the fight.

JC Calendar: What are your plans for the Holidays?

- I don't really have big plans for the holidays, so I'll probably just spend time with people I'm close with in NYC, and thank God for another year to be alive.

JC Calendar: As 2006 comes to an end soon, what are some of the high-points for 2006 that you would like to share with us?

- I think one of the high-points in 2006 was finally finishing up acting school. I was supposed to get kicked out because a specific teacher had a grudge against me. Let's just say... I wasn't as "upperclass" as the rest of the students, and I felt the discrimination from the beginning. I talked with an accent, I walked different, and I kept it real. But the awesome part was.... when this individual finally flipped on me for no reason, he refused to let me in his class, and one of the school rules was, you can't attend the conservatory if you're kicked out of a class (and come on people, I'm 25 years old, it was ridiculous)... so about half the school refused to participate in his class unless they accepted me back. It was probably one of the most memorable moments in 2006... where I realized I had a whole school on my side that believed in me, including other teachers. They accepted me back, I finished out the year, and beasted my final scene on stage in front of the school. It really meant a lot to me, and I'll never forget it.

JC Calendar: What have been some of the lower-points?

- One low-point was when I was so broke, that my little brother (his name is Nicky) had to send me money for rent. I was completely broke, had no job, and was eating bread for dinner... just straight up broke. And asking my kid brother for rent money was definitely a low point. I don't like to ask anyone for money or help, let alone my kid brother. I should be helping him out since I'm the older one, you know? But... he came through and sent me $700. I don't know what I'd do without him. He really believes in me and my dream. He means a lot to me, and he's the best brother anyone could ever have. Hopefully one day soon... I'll be able to give back to him and show him how grateful I am. Love you bro.

JC Calendar: Overall, what has 2006 taught you as a person?

- In 2006, I learned don't judge a book by it's cover. It might sound stupid, and it might sound like something your Grandmother says to you when you're like 7, but in all honesty, it's real. Too many cats out there jump to conclusions without actually knowing a person. They jump to conclusions without knowing a person's past or struggles, and I believe everyone should just... stop... listen... and take someone in as a human being before reacting to what you see on the outside. There's some beautiful people out there, and I'm not talking about their looks. Give people chances.

Thanks JC,
We will see you in the 2007 year.

Well folks--this is what we were talking about with our man of the year, JC the Truth. He is truly a prime example of what it means to be a survivor. If you want to learn more about JC the Truth, his music, and background, visit his official Myspace account--
