Just about everyone who loves sports has heard of the NFL. A person may not be able to name every player or every team but The NFL has become a household name. Another organization looking for that same recognition is the NWFA (National Women's Football Association). Check out this recent on line interview we did with the Association to learn some more about this organization.

Sports: Could you tell our audience the history of the National Women's Football Association?
NWFA: We will kick off our 7th season on April 14 with over 30 teams! We started with 1 team in 2000, the Nashville Dream. The detailed history is on our website www.WomensFootballCentral.com

Sports: What have been some feedback from people about this organization?
NWFA: Very positive, of course there are some hecklers! The NWFA had an 8 minute segment on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. We've been featured on MSNBC, Spike TV, Inside Edition and local and regional radio, newspaper and TV. We get emails everyday from people who have just found out about it and are excited that it is available.

Sports: What are the organization's goals?
NWFA: To be like the NFL! Of course, that will take a long time. Right now our focus is on getting TV and sponsors.

Sports: What have been some roadblocks that the organization has had to overcome?
NWFA: Getting TV and National sponsors.

Sports: Give us a quick rundown of the rules and regulations that governs the organization?
NWFA: We play by NFL rules.

Sports: What is the organization's main goals for the next five years?
NWFA: To bring in a National sponsor and to get more exposure on TV.

Sports: Do you feel that this organization is an achievement for women in sports now?
NWFA: Yes. We have over 1,000 women playing in our league. We get hundreds of emails from girls that want to play.

Sports: How have men football players, coaches, etc. reacted to this organization?
NWFA: When we had our 1st tryout in Nashville, we had over 300 women show up for that! We have had over 3,000 players, coaches and staff participate in our league. We have several videos on our website that have interviews with players and coaches who talk about how this has changed their life, in a positive way.

Sports: What message do you want to tell young girls in this country?
NWFA: You can do anything!

Sports: Where can someone who wants to participate in this organization do to play?
NWFA: The best place to find out about our league is to go to our website NWFA We have video, history, news and other info about the league, or call 615-860-4084. We also have our 30 minute league infomercial on the Internet. You can view it from our website.

Sports: Thanks for taking the time to to conduct this spotlight. I wish the National Women's Football Association all the success. I am loving this organization
NWFA: Thank you for the interview. Good Luck JuniorsCave!
