Seattle Easily defeated North Carolina for NFC Crown!

Seattle came to the NFC Championship Game ready to play ball. Especially seeing that their MVP was back in business. With a fierce defense and all the comforts of playing at home, the Seattle Seahawks quickly scored in the first few minutes of the game making for an almost dull NFC Championship match. Don't get me wrong, if you are a Seattle fan, this game was a powerhouse. But for us Carolina fans like myself, having the Seattle punched a ticket to their first Super Bowl with such ease was not fun to watch.

What's remarkable for Seattle is that Shaun Alexander came back from last week's concussion to rush for a team playoff-record of 132 yards and two touchdowns during the Sunday match. I have to give props where props are due; Seattle came to play ball. I am not sure if Carolina have the same mental state.

The Seahawks picked off three passes (count them 1 2 3) in winning their 12th straight home game and ending the fifth-seeded Panthers' hope for a return to the Super Bowl.

All in all, Seattle just played a better ballgame then Carolina. I really should be use to it by now; all my teams like my beloved Falcons seem to choke during these Championship game. For once, it would be nice to have a win, but my hats goes off to Seattle Seahawks. You guys are the best in the NFC!

Steelers Upset Broncos With Fantastic Win!

The Steelers have earn a spot in Super Bowl XL as Pittsburgh Wins third straight road playoff game. This is the Steelers' first AFC title since '95. An Amazing acheivement to say the least.

I must say that Quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, had one of the most amazing afternoon in the team's history, throwing for 275 yards and two scores. The Steelers dominated the game at the beginning of the first half quickly and continue to a dominating 34-17 victory in the AFC title game Sunday.

The Steelers will appear in Detroit for Pittsburgh's first appearance in the Super Bowl since 1995.

Steelers @ Broncos
SUN 3:00 ET on CBS

2006 SUPERBOWL is approaching, and I for one can not wait. Which team will go to the Superbowl this year? Will it be the Denver Broncos or Seattle SeaHawks? Maybe it will be the North Carolina Panthers or the Pittsburg Steelers. Whomever it is, 2006 will be Superbowl to remember.

Thus, it should not come as a major suprise to sports fan that two wild-card teams, Pittsburgh and Carolina, are trying to become only the second and third teams EVER to win three games on the road and get to the Super Bowl.

They are the underdogs (and I love just love the underdogs). Here are the preditions so far: The Broncos are favored by 3 over the Steelers in Denver, and the Seahawks are 3 1/2 point favorites at home over the Panthers. I would like for just one year to see the Underdogs take it all the way (ahh my Atlanta Falcons it WILL happen one day for us).

Here is where my reservations for the Steelers come in: they are 1-4 in AFC championship games under Bill Cowher. Those numbers are ugly for Steelers fan like myself.

In last week in Indianapolis against the Colts, the Steelers came out throwing, very much against their offensive tendency, which is to run first, then pass. This decision to change their trademark plays helped them jump off to 14-0 and 21-3 leads while their blitzing defense kept Peyton Manning off-balance.

Now on the other hand, The Broncos prefer to run and running is one of the things Denver does well.
Carolina @ Seattle
SUN 6:00 ET on FOX

Carolina share some similarities with the Panthets. The Panthers during the regular season had a 6-2 record with two wins in the playoffs. Now, In those two postseason victories, Carolina has gain much respect shutting out the offensively potent New York Giants as well as scoring 29 points against Chicago Bears (that is what I am talking about folks).

Folks, what I am really concern about is the injuries that the Panthers have at the moment. Carolina's running back will be third-stringer Nick Goings, and DE Julius Peppers will play with a sore shoulder. Even further injuries include when League MVP Shaun Alexander left Seattle's win over Washington last week with a concussion.

Folks, the bottom line is that this game is almost here and we will have to wait a few more hours to see who will face-off in the 2006 Super Bowl!
