INDIANAPOLIS - What can be called a cinderalla story; the Florida Gators celebrate their 1st National NCAA Title championship game on April 3, 2006. Coach Billy Donovan lifted the national championship trophy last night above his head as he posed for pictures and answering questions about his team.
The Gators (33-6), who were scheduled to arrive back in Gainesville this afternoon with thousands of devoted fans waiting to greet the team, plan to return to school for only a day before traveling to the White House this Thursday at which time they will be congratulated by President Bush .
The bottom line is that the Gators are a team that should be proud of what they have done this basketball season. The only question left is that who will turn pro?
