Larry Dane

Junior’s Cave is always bringing you some of the coolest interviews from Indie artists in the music industry. Our newest artist to grace the online pages of Junior’s Cave started playing the bass guitar at the young age of 14 years old. Larry Dane has stated that he “enjoys writing funny songs that make people laugh”. This New Jersey native knows how to have a good time and he definitely knows how to rock. Check out this recent interview that Larry did with the magazine.

Isaac-Joseph: Briefly describe how you entered into the music industry.

Lawrence Dane: I started writing music & going to the recording studio at the age of 16.

Isaac-Joseph: What is the most rewarding aspect to making music currently for you?

Lawrence Dane: Connecting with people and seeing them enjoy it.

Isaac-Joseph: What has discouraged you the most about making music?

Lawrence Dane: The way the music business operates that you need a lawyer or personal manager to get major record labels to listen to you.

Isaac-Joseph: Do you have a personal philosophy about music? If so, what is it?

Lawrence Dane: Yes, it brings out your true emotions and puts me in a good mood.

Isaac-Joseph: When you are performing live in front of an audience, what are the thoughts that are running through you head?

Lawrence Dane: High Energy & connecting with the audience.

Isaac-Joseph: Why is being an independent musician important to you?

Lawrence Dane: Because you are in charge of your own destination.

Isaac-Joseph: Do you think the Internet has altered the path of music as an industry? If so, how?

Lawrence Dane: I think it is much more accessible for an independent artist to get recognized than years ago you would have to go through a major record label to get recognized.

Isaac-Joseph: Any advice for other musicians out there when it comes to using the Internet as a medium for getting their music heard to the masses?

Lawrence Dane: Utilizing Internet on-line promotional companies to market your product.

Isaac-Joseph: What kind of recording software do you use?

Lawrence Dane: Protools.

Isaac-Joseph: I know that everybody has his or her idea of a dream artist, someone who for whatever reasons that person would just love to listen to and admire. As an entertainer yourself, if you could play with one of your "dream" musicians, anyone at all, who would it be and why?

Lawrence Dane: David Lee Roth & Eddie Van Halen; I think they are extremely & talented & great entertainers.

Isaac-Joseph: What are you hoping to gain from your experience of being a musician and making music?

Lawrence Dane: That I could eventually make a career from this.

Isaac-Joseph: What are you hopes for your music in the year 2008?

Lawrence Dane: That people will enjoy this and buy it. Also I hope to get more recognition.

Isaac-Joseph: This is our Shout Out time. Please give props to anyone and everyone that matters the most to you.

Lawrence Dane: My wife, my kids, the rest of my family, and the Green & White Village.

Isaac-Joseph: This is Shameless Plug time: Give us some updates on new releases and other projects in the works.

Lawrence Dane: After this project, I will be working on remixes of other songs that I wrote & produced. I believe you will enjoy them.

Isaac-Joseph: Final Thoughts:

Lawrence Dane: I hope the public enjoys it!
