Luke Crumb

Check out Junior’s Cave’s newest interview with the Italian recording artist Luke Crumb. Crumb, who has just completed recording his first EP entitled FATHER & MOTHER, takes time from his busy schedule to speak with Junior’s Cave.

Isaac-Joseph: Briefly describe how you entered into the music industry.

Luke Crumb: Oh it’s been a hard adventure recording my first EP, as I am Italian and sing in English, seems that here nobody wanted to listen. But I’ve been courageous and day after day I gathered rewards and fans.

Isaac-Joseph: What is the most rewarding aspect to making music currently for you?

Luke Crumb: An International Distribution and/or Performing Deal

Isaac-Joseph: What has discouraged you the most about making music?

Luke Crumb: The target of commercial music….very low.

Isaac-Joseph: Do you have a personal philosophy about music? If so, what is it?

Luke Crumb: Yes of course. I think that music is the most elevate communication and consciousness tool by which the FATHER and the MOTHER guide us toward the LIGHT that’s LOVE. I believe that we live for love.

Isaac-Joseph: When you are performing live in front of an audience, what are the thoughts that are running through you head?

Luke Crumb: Not often I think when performing. I usually am very concentrated, but in those case is just one thought running through my head “Do these people understand?” maybe if I could play in the U.S. or in the U.K.. This only thought could be cancelled.

Isaac-Joseph: Why is being an independent musician important to you?

Luke Crumb: Because in this way I believe I can keep true my art and create a new target for the media.

Isaac-Joseph: Do you think the Internet has altered the path of music as an industry? If so, how?

Luke Crumb: I don’t think so, because many people (those who really like music) prefer the cd’s. Instead, I think that the Internet gave opportunities to everybody who simply strums.

Isaac-Joseph: Any advice for other musicians out there when it comes to using the Internet as a medium for getting their music heard to the masses?

Luke Crumb: Here in Italy everybody tunes on Myspace…look out there and find more.

Isaac-Joseph: What kind of recording software do you use?

Luke Crumb: CUBASE

Isaac-Joseph: I know that everybody has his or her idea of a dream artist, someone who for whatever reasons that person would just love to listen to and admire. As an entertainer yourself, if you could play with one of your "dream" musicians, anyone at all, who would it be and why?

Luke Crumb: I'd like to play with R.E.M., they changed my life, they save me and taught many, many, many things. They’re always a step beyond.

Isaac-Joseph: What are you hoping to gain from your experience of being a musician and making music?

Luke Crumb: I’d like to reach a most high number of people around the world and know that they have been inducted to reflection and to the awakeness of the soul.

Isaac-Joseph: What are you hopes for your music in the year 2008?

Luke Crumb: Getting an International Distribution and/or Performing Deal

Isaac-Joseph: This is our Shout Out time. Please give props to anyone and everyone that matters the most to you.

Luke Crumb: The first is Icaro Tealdi (producer of my EP) because he materialized my concept. Of course I thank my Parents for the beautiful life gave me. With High and Low all my friends (they’re very much) and everyone I met in this run up to liberation of my soul.

Isaac-Joseph: This is Shameless Plug time: Give us some updates on new releases and other projects in the works.

Luke Crumb: I started distribution by my own with a very low budget. Actually I’m also recording a DEMO with my other band HEADACHE (we use to play something similar to NU Metal) in which i am the singer. I’m still looking for an International Distribution and/or Performing Deal.
