Mario Cazzo | ||
January 2007 was a hot month for the people at Junior’s Cave when, in our pages of JC Calendar, we introduced our Man of the Month, Mike. He certainly warmed up our pages during those winter days. But, Mario Cazzo (real name is Mike), AKA the One and Only Phoenix, is not just another pretty face and hot body. Mario is man on a mission. He is also one of the coolest down to earth guys that you will encounter. So, what has Mario been up to since we last featured him in these pages? Let’s find out.
Calendar: It is a pleasure to have you grace our online pages once again. You have been quite busy since the last time we spoke. What are some new developments that are going on with your life?
Mario: Wow! It’s been a long 9 months... I’ve done hundreds of new shoots; helped launch new men’s wear lines and traveled all over ,ost recently LA a few times, Montreal, Miami, Tampa, Seattle, Hawaii just to name a few...
Calendar: You are very ambitious: I read on your MySpace bio that you would like to be featured on the cover of Men's Health, Men’s Fitness, Playgirl, Freshman, Torso, Men, and even TV guide. What have been some steps you have taken to ensure that these goals are being met?
Mario: Well, April was a huge month for me, I was on the cover of Freshmen and a 12 page layout, also was in [2] and am now talking to a photographer about a Playgirl shoot, but TV guide still won’t return my calls (LOL).
Calendar: You have done an array of different types of modeling from high fashion, nude, erotic, black & white, sports, and swim wear. For those of us who have not seen such shows as Next Top Model (which should be only a few). Explain the life of a model and the hard work that goes into capturing that perfect image.
Mario: HAHA... My favorite question; I’ve done hundreds of shoots and unlike the show, I don’t get a 2 hour make-up time and my photos aren’t digitally fixed up. I am who I am in my photos unlike many models you see on the show how looking nothing like their photos. But yes, lots of gym time, good diet and try to keep my skin clear and stay busy working.
Calendar: You have an amazing body. What type of workout and diet plan do you follow to maintain the shape that you do? And what could you recommend to anyone who just wants live a healthier lifestyle?
Mario: Thank you, I keep my workouts very simple and straight forward, but I have recently been doing the "300 workout" from the movie. Kind of corny I know, but Google it, check it out. It will kick your butt. I love it. As for my diet, I really don’t do anything to special, just try to eat healthy and avoid high fat foods and junk food. And one thing I tell others when it comes to changing their lifestyle is that one thing doesn’t always work for everyone. You need to do what feels right for you and your body. You should never feel horrible while on diet or workout plan.
Calendar: Excellent advice!
Calendar: When you are doing nudes, do you ever get embarrassed by the fact that you are naked in front of a person or people who may have just met? How do you overcome that fear?
Mario: Ya, it was weird the first time, but I got over it fast and you realize that this is a job and I try to be as professional as I can.
Calendar: Are you hoping to one day to branch off into movies or other aspects in the Entertainment business? If so, what avenue and why?
Mario: I have had offers to do some movies and acting but I just have never really been able to get into it. I like modeling, acting is a little too intense for me.
Calendar: With a hectic schedule that a model has, how can one maintain a health relationship with a person? Do you find this to be a hard task especially when are away on business a lot and the person you are with seems to not get what you are trying to accomplish?
Mario: HAHA, I don’t have a relationship right now. And I haven’t had one for about a year now and it is starting to get to me. The few relationships I did have didn’t last long due to the fact that I was always gone and it’s hard to maintain anything healthy over the phone from across the country.
Calendar: What have you considered Mario to be your biggest success professionally thus far in your career and why?
Mario: I'd have to say the cover of Freshmen. It was my first cover and came out at a really busy time and everything just happened at once, it was great.
Calendar: Have you ever considered doing any dancing such as the shows done by male dancers who entertainment women and men in night clubs? In other words, would you ever consider becoming a male exotic dancer stripper? And do you think that that type of dancing is art (why or why not)?
Mario: I have danced a few times, clubs, cruises, parties, seams to be every where I go as soon as someone finds out I’m a professional model my shirt has to come off and the music starts. And I don’t know if I’d consider exotic dancing art but it is definitely hard work and a tough job and those who do it have my respect.
Calendar: What type of pictures would you consider to be offensive and against what you believe in as a professional model?
Mario: It takes a lot to offend me, but things like nudity ever graphic nudity doesn’t do it. I get offended more by people on all these different modeling websites that post a few self portraits and call themselves models.
Calendar: (laughs) I can certainly hear you on that one.
Calendar: What can we look forward to in the next few years from Mario Cazzo because we will be watching (maybe you will grace the pages of our magazine when our first hard-printed copy goes out in January 2008--we would be happy)?
Mario: I would love to be in your first hard copy. And for me in the next few years, I would say more of the same just at a bigger scale. And if I’m lucky I might even be able to find a girlfriend and have a healthy relationship.
Calendar: It has been a pleasure to interview you once again and we are very thankful for the opportunity. Any last words that you would like to share with the audience of Junior’s Cave Calendar page as we close this great spotlight?
Mario: Thanks again for the great offer to talk to you and your readers. It’s a great feeling that people out there enjoy what I do and they like to follow my career. Thanks Again! till next time. Ciao
Thanks so much.
