When collecting sometimes you can run into fakes. If a price looks too good to be true, chances are it's a fake. Also, be careful when buying from Hong Kong or Taiwan sellers because that's were most bootlegs come from that I have determined based on my own personal experiences.
Hello, this is Noreé Leggett; the new editor/columnist for the collectibles section. I'm really excited about doing this. For years, I've been an avid collector. I collected anything I could get my hands on from pencils to pogs and my all time favorite toys. This section is mainly dedicated to collecting toys although I will venture out to other collectibles much later. I hope I can provide as much info as possible to help all of my fellow collectors out there.
Dynamic Heroes Calls For Dynamic Statues
By: Noreé Leggett
Published: October 6, 2009 8:30 PM EST September/October Edition
Hi all of my fellow collectors! It's been way too long and I'm sorry for that. I have been away from Junior's Cave working on other projects. Anyway, I've come back with figure news from one of my favorite companies. That issss; wait for it… DC Direct!
DC Direct is coming out with a new line. The DC Dynamics line! The DC Dynamics line features six different heroes in dynamic poses. Each heroes' upper body is shown with the lower body replaced by an effect. First up is Wonder Women. Her statue depicts her soaring in the sky. In this figure, it looks like she is flying elegantly through a cloud. This statue stands at 11.25" tall. It is due out January 2010.
Next is Aquaman. Aquaman is depicted holding his trident and swimming through the waves. This statue stands at 10.5" tall. It is due out March of 2010. Batman is the next in line. He is emerging from smoke surround by bats. This statue truly makes him look like the dark night. It stands at 11" tall and is due out May 2010.
Finally, it's Superman! Why "finally" well that's because the last two are to be announced which makes Superman the last figure for this column. Superman is depicted flying through the air. This statue makes him look like he is flying fast like a rocket.
Height and release date is unknown for this figure. Sorry! As soon as more info is out, I'll be in touch.
Happy collecting!
Cover Girls of DC

Hey all of my fellow collectors! I have more great things to share! If you haven't realized it by now I am a huge fan of DC Direct and the DC universe in general so naturally I excited about these next figures. These figures are the latest addition to the Adam Hughes' Cover Girls of DC line.
First is a Catwoman statue based off the cover of Catwoman #46. She is wearing her skin tight black leather suit. With one hand on her hip and another pulling up her goggles, she sneakily looks on ready for some more mischief. This statue stands at about 9.5 inches tall.
Next up is the Black Canary. This statue is based off of the variant cover of Justice League of America #6. Black Canary is featured wearing her usual outfit. She is poised cracking her knuckles with a look ready for action. This statue is also about 9.5 inches tall.
Look out for Catwoman in October and Black Canary in November. Happy collecting!
Bats in Action

Hey all of my fellow collectors, I'm back with more info on new statues.
DC Direct is hitting us with some awesome new statues from the Batman universe. First up is the Ame-comi Batgirl version 2. This Batgirl is Cassandra Cain. With a super gothy look this statue has a real dark almost creepy feel to it. Dressed in a long black dress with cloth draped at her feet and a somewhat torn looking cape, she really is like a creature of the darkness. She is poised holding two batarangs ready to deal justice. This statue stands at 9 inches tall.
Next, black and white is still in. From the art work of Ed McGuinness, this next batman leaps into action. Like the other black and white Batman statues this one stands at least 7.5 inches tall. He is poised on one leg with his arms back ready to leap into action. His cape is a little short but that's probably because it's arched in a flying motion. The muscles on this statue look very well sculpted and the facial express is filled with determination which is awesome.
Look out for Batman in November 2009 and Batgirl in April 2009. Happy collecting!

Hi, I am happy to send all of my fellow collectors this wonderful preview that I am going to talk about for this month. I first want to thank all who have been reading my articles now I want to tell you about an awesome new statue. Bowen's Design, the number 1 Marvel Statue makers in America are delivering yet another statue that I'll say is absolutely stunning.
What is this statue you may ask? Well, it's Angel from X-Men. Standing at a glorious 12 ½ inches tall this Angel's statue features him in his blue outfit which is a plus for me since I love blue. He is posed soaring through the sky with his wing frozen in a gorgeous flapping motion. This is one of the best parts to this statue and it shows the level of craftsmanship that went into building this statue.
They sculpted clouds at his feet to show that he is in the air. Speaking of sculpting this statue is very well sculpted. I love how the wings look so real and not stony like the Hardheros Angel statues. Overall, this statue has a real nostalgic hero feel to it that any Angel fan or X-men fan would enjoy.
Look for this statue to come out around August of this year and happy collecting!

Hi everyone it's me again. This month I'm going to talk about three new toys that'll leave you in awe. Some of you may remember Kotobukiya releasing a bishoujo version of Supergirl awhile back. Well now they are moving on to Marvel. For those of you who don't know what bishoujo means it's basically a Japanese phrase for pretty magical girl. Exactly two Marvel girls got the bishoujo treatment.
First up is Rouge, wearing her iconic green and yellow outfit. This Rogue statue is beautifully done. She is posed with one leg propped up seductively with one hand keeping her majestically flowing hair out of her face and the other out to the side in a model like form. She is a little over 7 inches tall.
Next is Black Widow also standing at a little above7 inches. She is in her skin tight black outfit which shows off every curve. Her pose is like that of a spy movie poster. With her hair flowing behind her and pistol ready, she looks around ready for action.
Those two may have been beautiful but the cover girl is Zatanna. DC Direct is adding Zatanna to their Adams Hughes Cover girls of DC line. Standing at 10 inches tall this statue is taken straight from the cover of Catwoman issue #58. Holding a cane and top hat Zatanna is ready to put on a show.
Look forward to these amazing statues and Happy Collecting!

Hey all of my fellow collectors, It's me again coming with yet another review. This figure is also from the Megahouse One Piece series and let me just say they have out done themselves again. They've done a wonderful job of capturing the essence of the character Brook. Who is Brook you say? Well, Brook is a very skilled musician and is a true (slightly pervy) gentleman. His most notable features are his precious afro and he's a walking skeleton.
This figure stands at 10 inches and he is very well detailed. His suit looks great and the tear in it looks good too. Each bone that is visible looks great and the skull is done very well. You would probably think that since he's a skeleton they'd paint him a generic white color but they actually use a bone color. And finally his 'fro is amazingly done. That was something I was afraid they would mess up for sure but they sure showed me. That's not the best part about his head. You can actually turn his head from left to right and you can open and close his mouth. The most amazing feature is you can open his skull up like it does in the Anime. I wouldn't keep it open though because of the peg that keep it together shows but it is good for (and is made to) storing one of his smaller accessories.
Speaking of accessories he comes with a decent amount. First is his tone dial. For those who haven't seen the Anime a tone dial is a recorder. The tone dial can be held in either his left or right hand or put in his skull which is where he keeps it in the Anime. Second is a top hat which can't fit on his head but is made to be held by his left hand. Third a tea cup that he can hold in his right hand. Finally, he comes with a cane which can be switched for a cane sword. The cane fits on his right arm and his pose in a way looks like an en guard pose so if you remove everything else you can put his sword in his right hand and it'll look like he's sort of ready to attack.
All in all this figure is a must have for any collector especially fans of the series.
Look forward to my next review and happy collecting!

Hello all of my fellow collectors I'm back with more goods.
Remember Kotobukiya? They're putting out some fabulous busts and an awesome figure. First up is this marvelous bust of Storm. Dressed in her classic costume she is posed elegantly standing over 11 inches tall with a massive cape flowing behind her in the wind. She has a reversible base with a nameplate on one side and her civilian face on the other. Also her eyes glow in the dark to simulate her using her powers which is a very cool feature.
Next figure that I want to spotlight is a Kitty Pryde bust. She wears her classic black and yellow outfit from the 1980's. She stands in a somewhat relaxed pose holding Ogun's Hannya Mask in front of her and a katana behind her. She also comes with a reversible base but she's only 9 inches tall.
Finally, Captain America statue has arrived. This statue features him bustin' some chops. Well not literally but he's about to. He is in his current outfit with of course his iconic shield. He is posed dramatically in the air grimacing down at three Hydra troopers below him. This entire statue stands at an amazing 13 inches tall. That is it for this month. Stay tune for a new review coming up later on this month. And if you have a questions, comment, or concern, please feel free to email me at noreeleggett@juniorscave.com. I am always happy to hear from my readers.
Look forward to these awesome releases and happy collecting.
