SHOP AROUND

The best way to get started with collecting toys is to shop around all of the cool websites out there on the Internet. Some of the best sites to begin with would be E-Bay and Amazon. You can find all types of cool toys. The key to remember is that start collecting toys from characters that you love. See you next month.

FRESH NEW UPDATE

By: Sol Chance
Published: November 02, 2008 6:10 PM EST

Hello there my fellow geeks, this is a fresh new update straight off wizarduniverse.com!

Robert Downey, Jr. has been signed to reprise the role of "Tony Stark" for Marvel in not one, not two, but three movies. Yes, folks a total of 3 movies, now you are probably thinking what movies; well, I'm just going to go ahead and tell you. Iron Man 2, 3, and the Avengers.......and the last one isn't some type of misspelling, he will be in the Avengers.

This if I'm not mistaken is the first big name mentioned to be attached to this project slated to be out in either 2010 or 2011. Also, the director of Iron Man, Jon Favreau, will be the director for the second Iron Man and will also be the executive producer for "The Avengers". And as previously reported by me on this site, with information I got from wizarduniverse.com, Don Cheadle, who is replacing Terrance Howard as James Rhodes in the next Iron Man, will also be appearing in "The Avengers" as well.

Well, when I get more breaking news I'll be sure to hit you guys up and keep you posted, but until then............I'LL HOLLA!!!!

Closet Geeks

By: Sol Chance
Published: November 02, 2008 5:29 PM EST

Hey....hey......hey, sorry so late with the info you "closet geeks" out there, but football, work, and family life have been getting to me. But, now it's time to get away, settle down and get YOU informed with as much "useless information" as I possibly can.

Where do I begin??? Well, let's go with some DVD release dates for you:

Nov. 4: Batman: the complete animated series
Get Smart
Nov. 9: Kung fu Panda
Nov. 11: Hellboy II
Star Wars: the clone wars
Nov. 18: Wall-E
Nov. 25: Hancock

And sorry to say, no big anime or comic book type movies until Dec., with the release of Punisher: War Journal on Dec. 5, and one you guys have been waiting for. In Jan, "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans" will hit theaters, this is the prequel to the original "Underworld" movie which shows the revolt of the Lycans against the Viktor let Vampires (the trailer looks good).

And in Nov., Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe will be released on the 16th, a must for all MK fans. And no set release date for DC Universe online, which is still set to be released in 2009.

Not much to mention this month for comic news, although my report the first of Dec will have a lot of big time information about what's going on in the DC and Marvel universe's. But I do have this bit of information, reported on wizarduniverse.com, in Feb there will be a new Black Panther..........yes, you read me correctly, a NEW Black Panther, and to further your shock, it will be a female. What happened to T'Challa?

All will hopefully be explained in the issues to come but you may want to start picking this title up at stores now, it may become a hard to find item like the "Death of Captain America" was for Marvel. And a small bit of Marvel movie news, also reported on wizarduniverse.com, Daniel Craig, the current "James Bond" has reported to turned down the role for the big screen blockbuster "Thor", which is set to be released in 2010.

Well that's all for now until next month............BE BREEZY!!!!!!!

I'm Back!!!

By: Sol Chance
Published: September 09, 2008 9:32 PM EST

Hello, hello, hello.............it's your boy the "Uber-nerd" himself, back again with another run on Junior's Cave. I know it's been a while and things have changed while I've been gone, so I'm going to try my best and get this wild ride off to an explosive start. The format has been changed but the "nerd" in me will remain the same, I'm so full of useless comic, gaming, DVD, and cartoon knowledge it's like I have nothing better to do than this kind of stuff(and to be honest I really don't.....but that's another story for another time), let's get this thing started.

I first want to start with DVD's, to keep you up to date, and by the way my part of this column will be on a monthly basis only, unless something totally unexpected happens and it has to be reported, but back to DVD's. Here are a few gems for this month that you need to keep an eye on:

Next Avengers, Sept 2: story based on the kids of the Avengers, after they are killed by Ultron, who is systematically taking of the world, piece by piece. Line up includes the daughter of Thor, the son of Giant man & the Wasp, the son of Hawkeye, the son of the Black Panther and an unknown woman (watch the DVD and take a look and his powers and you will automatically know...great continuation on an already ongoing storyline), and the son of Captain America & the Black Widow. Marvel's 5th straight to DVD movie, and I must say I enjoyed it, but I'm a big kid at heart. Also, it gives a sneak at the Hulk vs. Wolverine and Hulk vs. Thor DVD's both due in Jan 2009.

Smallville season 7, Sept 9 along with Forbidden Kingdom

Chuck season 1, Sept 16: A must watch show for anyone with a pulse!!!!!

Season 2 starts this month on NBC, please check your local listings for time and channel.

And the second biggest comic movie of the year........IRON MAN......drops Sept 30.....nuff said.

Now let's get to Games, and I'm going to get through this quick so I can make a very....VERY....BIG announcement for anyone who hasn't heard this yet, but first:

Star Wars: The Force unleashed, Sept 16, out for X-Box, the 360, PS2 & 3, also PSP.

And I'm about to jump forward, and will give more specifics on these as the dates get closer, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe(that's right, you read that correctly), Nov 10; and Naurto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, Nov 4.

Now for the big game announcement; Sony is set to release......are you ready......DC UNIVERSE ONLINE in 2009, with Jim Lee as a designer for this game, that's right Jim Lee. The announcement was made by Lee himself at E3 this summer, and for a preview video of this game you can go to IGN.com. You basically get to create your own hero or villain and fight alone side the heroes or villains of the DCU.

The graphics are incredible and it sounds awesome......so save up that vacation time, and get ready to call in sick....a lot cause this one will be a must have for any comic fan. Only drawback for some......unless you were one of the smart one's like me....as of now it's only on, as far as I can tell, PS3 and PC. But as I get details, I will surely keep you updated.

Not much as far as cartoons are concerned but, and I'll report on this more next month, Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be on cartoon network starting in October......and it takes over where the animated movie left off this fall. And for those that didn't know, and who did watch the movie in theaters, it was actually meant to be 3 part TV series starter but Lucas decided to put the first 3 parts in theaters.

Now.......drum roll please..............COMICS!!!!!!!

Let's start in brief with DC, who once again, has lost their freakin' minds!!!! DC continues to push the bar and stay on top of the game, with the new series "Final Crisis", and let's just say this......the Martian Manhunter was murdered, Barry Allen is back, the New Gods are dead (for now) and Darkseid has taken over the Earth.....oh and did I mention there is a War in Hell and Blackest Night (the war of the Lanterns) is about to begin!!!!!!

Let's just say if you are not a DC fan, get over it and get it crackin' cause they are taking no prisoners. Oh and for you that like the Milestone characters from the DCU, like our beloved Editor-in-Chief, I Davis Jr., Icon and Hardware will be in upcoming issues starting in November of the Justice league and there is talk of Static showing up in Teen Titans.......you have got to love comics, you really really do.

And let's not forget about ole, Mighty Marvel comics......who with the recent Death of Captain America storyline, after the Avengers and all heroes were divided due to last years big Civil War, are really trying to knock DC down as king of the mountain right now. They are at it again with the Secret Invasion storyline, where the Skulls have invaded Earth and been disguised as a lot and I mean a lot of heroes, Hank Pym, Dum Dum Duncan of Shield, Jessica Drew(Spiderwoman), and Electra just to name a few.

Not to mention the X-men have relocated to San Francisco, where the city has welcomed them with open arms; the Guardians of the Galaxy(whose line-up includes, Adam Warlock, Quasar(daughter of Captain Mar-vell of Kree), Rocket Raccoon, Drax the Destroyer, Glamora, Mantis and Star-lord; there are now 2 Hulks(red and green); Cable is protecting the first born mutant since the House of M storyline from Bishop(yes Bishop), and Wolverine leads Cyclop's take no prisoners, Wetworks X-Force team(which includes Warpath, X-23, Wolfsbane, and now Archangel; but I have to read my latest issue to see if that last member is correct). Man what a great time to be a comic collector......

Well, that's it for now, and just to let you guys know, Mega con will be back in Orlando Feb 27, 28 and March 1st, 2009, and once again I'll be there. So far this year's special guest will be none other than George Perez, but there will be more updates as the event gets closer. Well, that's all I have to report so far, I'll be back with another update in about 3 weeks, and so until then........I'LL HOLLA!!!!!!!!
