Group members Leah Wheelhouse (Vocals), Bryn Evans (Guitar), Tom Nelson (Drums), Tony Bottral (Guitar/Vocals) make up the Australia’s Indie Rock band Zwish. With influences such as The Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, & Hole to name a few, Zwish is banking that their music will have the same impact as their influences did on the music industry. If what I heard is any indication of the type of music that Zwish is making, then let me tell you what; this group rocks.
The four members of the group each bring something unique to the band. With a sound that captures the very element of Indie Rock music, Zwish is gaining a fan base that certainly will grow in the years to come. What have captured my attention to the band are its lead female vocals. Wheelhouse can certainly pack a mean punch as she is proving that female rockers are definitely alive and well in the music industry. Rounding out the group is the fierce electrifying guitar playing done by Evans and Bottral and the insane drums by Nelson.
Zwish is a winning team with a musical presence that commands respect. I give Zwish’s music a powerhouse A-.
